Air quality 'improved' a bit in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): The air quality of the national capital improved a bit on Jan 07. According to Air Quality Index (AQI), PM 10 was at 287 and PM 2.5 at 243, both were in 'poor' category near Lodhi Road. Delhi is reeling under cold waves as well although due to less fog, visibility on roads is clear.

JNU violence: Mumbai Police relocate protestors from Gateway of India to Azad Maidan

Mumbai, Jan 07 (ANI): Demonstrators staged protest against JNU violence in Mumbai. DCP (Zone 1) of Mumbai, Sangramsingh Nishandar appealed the protestors at Gateway of India to relocate at Azad Maidan. But protestors did not listen to his appeal. Later, police evicted protesters at Gateway of India and relocated them to Azad Maidan. Speaking on it, DCP (Zone 1) of Mumbai Sangramsingh Nishandar said, "We asked them to maintain peace but when the protest led to blockage of roads and common Mumbaikers and tourists started facing problems due to them, we appealed them so many times to relocate. But they did not listen to us and that is why we re-located them."

Mumbai, Jan 07 (ANI): A girl was spotted holding 'Free Kashmir' at Mumbai's Gateway of India, during a protest against JNU at Gateway of India. Several students from different education institutions and people raised their voice in support of JNU students against the violence at the campus. Violence broke out inside JNU campus on Jan 05 evening in which more than 30 people were injured.

'No-drone zone' posters put up around Taj Mahal complex to aware people

Agra (UP), Jan 07 (ANI): Posters have been put up around the Taj Mahal complex to make people aware that monument is 'no-drone zone' area. The Uttar Pradesh Police took cognizance and put posters to aware foreigners as well as Indian tourists to restrict them from flying of drones near the Taj Mahal. Additional SP police of Agra, Botre Rohan Pramod said that "We have received complaints that tourists use drones to capture top view of Taj Mahal." Police took the action in the wake of incidents of drones being spotted in the no-flying zone around the Taj Mahal.

Intel teases modular gaming NUC 9 Extreme 'Ghost Canyon' at CES 2020

New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, Intel gave a sneak peek into its gaming-focused mini PC, the NUC 9 Extreme 'Ghost Canyon'. The teaser confirms Intel's plans of building a tiny modular desktop gaming PC that lets you swap out the CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and ports easily, The Verge reports. The resulting computer would be just 5 litres in volume. Intel says the modular, mini PC will support up to Intel's H-series Core i9 processors. Details on pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

Residents living near Kochi's Maradu apartments vacate homes fearing demolition

Kochi (Kerala), Jan 07 (ANI): Residents living near Maradu apartment complex have started vacating their homes as they are scared of demolition. "Unhappy New Year" and "God save my house" are painted painted on walls. One of the residents said that his house will be destroyed when demolition takes place. Officials have said that "steps have been taken for safe demolition". "We're adopting implosion technology. For safety of people we'll move them out of the area," said Venugopal, Dy Chief Controller of Explosives, from Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union (JNUSU) president Aishe Ghosh who was attacked in violence that broke out in varsity on evening of Jan 05, demanded the immediate removal of Vice Chancellor. She said, "We condemn it and we want the immediate removal of the Vice Chancellor." Blaming Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for the violence, she said, "Since past 4-5 days, violence was being promoted in the campus by some RSS affiliated professors and ABVP." Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jan 06 (ANI): Reacting to the attack on JNU students inside the university premises by masked goons on January 05, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on January 06 said the universities are meant for education and he will not let them become an "adda" of politics. AAP will fight Delhi election on 'positive campaign': Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): After the Election Commission announced that the elections for Delhi Assembly will be held on February 08, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said his party will fought the elections on its performance and Aam Aadmi Party's entire campaign will be a "positive campaign". He said, "This incident is perhaps the most clinching evidence that we are rapidly descending into anarchy. New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Property inside Jawaharlal Nehru University was badly damaged after the campus was attacked by masked miscreants. Several vehicles were vandalised and sharded glasses were witnessed all over the campus. More than 30 students and professors sustained injuries after campus was attacked in the evening of January 05. Injured have been admitted to AIIMS. Speaking to mediapersons, Devender Arya, DCP of South West Delhi said, "We are invoking all possible methods of investigation. We are keeping an eye on videos and messages being circulated on social media. We will do the identification soon."
