New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), Swati Maliwal continued her hunger-strike demanding swift laws to punish the rape convicts. Today is the 11th day of her indefinite hunger-strike. Speaking to ANI, Swati said, "Today is the 11th day of my indefinite hunger-strike. The law in our country gives protection to the rapists. We have to end this system."Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora on December 13 adjourned the hearing on plea of Nirbhaya's parents seeking issuance of death warrant and execution of all convicts, till December 18.
New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices ruled higher during early hours on Friday following reports that the United States and China have reached an agreement over the terms of a phase one trade deal. At 10:15 am, the BSE S and P Sensex was up by 315 points to 40,897 while the Nifty 50 gained 78 points at 12,050. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange except for Nifty pharma were in the positive zone with Nifty metal up by 2.4 per cent, PSU bank by 1.8 per cent and auto by 1.4 per cent.

Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Dec 13 (ANI): At least 7 people have died due to diphtheria since September 2019 in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district. More than hundreds of cases have been registered till now. Campaign is carried out in schools, social welfare hostels and anganwadi centres. Speaking on the same, District Health Officer MK Patil said, "Till date, 134 cases of diphtheria have been reported in the district with 7 deaths. In view of this, state government had launched an awareness campaign".

Speaking on this, IBM Watson Media and Weather General Manager, Cameron Clayton said, "We are excited to launch GRAF model which is globally going to help much brut accuracy around the world specially, place like India. In India, weather forecast is updated twice a day and is typically 12 to 15 km resolution with GRAF it will be updated every hour and at a 3 km resolution. New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Researchers from the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute have discovered a potential new cancer immunotherapy target that involves switching off a regulatory cell to stop tumours growing and spreading. A journal of the American Association for Cancer Research - Cancer Discovery, has published the findings in a study. Head of QIMR Berghofer's Cancer Immunoregulation and Immunotherapy Laboratory, Associate Professor Michele Teng, said that the study could potentially help in treating such cancer patients for whom no other current immunotherapies have worked out.

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Nirbhaya rape and murder case advocate in Patiala Court, Seema Kushwaha informed that the hearing will begin at 10:00 am in the morning at Patiala Court tomorrow (December 13), the hearing will take place through video conferencing. "Tomorrow, December 13, 2019, there is a hearing on the petition which we filed on December 13, 2018. The court asked all the stakeholders to be present there in the court for the hearing," said Advocate Seema Kushwaha. She further added, "The court also asked the 4 convicts to be present but their physical presence is not possible due to security issues. Thus, they will be there through video conferencing. The hearing will begin at 10:00 am in the morning in Patiala Court."

The Union Cabinet's nod to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code amendment and the government's approval to a partial credit guarantee scheme for government-owned banks to purchase high-rated pooled assets from financially sound non-banking finance companies boosted the investor sentiment. The BSE SandP Sensex surged ahead by 169 points at 40,582 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 62 points at 11,972.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 12 (ANI): A Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Mumbai resigned from his position against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019. "Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 is against the spirit of Constitution. As Civil Disobedience Movement, I have decided to not attend office. Either my application for VRS should be accepted or my letter should be accepted as my letter of resignation," said Abdur Rahman while speaking to ANI. The Bill was passed in both of the Houses in the Parliament.
