Watch: Cricket fan Sudhir blows 'shankh' for Team India's triumph

Indore (MP), Nov 13 (ANI): Indian cricket team fan Sudhir Kumar on November 13 blew a 'shankh' to express his confidence on the triumph of the 'Men in Blue.' He said that the 'blue jersey' performed really well during their matches with the Proteas hence, India will kiss the glory. The two Test matches will be played in Indore and Kolkata on November 14 and 22 respectively. India will host their first ever pink-ball test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 22. All eyes are already on the second test between India and Bangladesh.

Prince Charles visits Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi

Supreme Court brings CJI's office under RTI

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court of India on November 13 ruled that office of Chief Justice of India (CJI) is public authority under the purview of the transparency law, Right to Information Act (RTI). SC took this decision keeping in mind the 2010 Delhi High Court verdict. A constitution bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice NV Ramana, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Sanjiv Khanna said that judicial independence had to be kept in mind while dealing with transparency. CJI Ranjan Gogoi directed the Ministry of Law to conduct an impact study and submit a report of the same to the apex court.

Miscreants molest woman, attack her husband at restaurant in Gurugram

Gurugram (Haryana), Nov 13 (ANI): A woman was allegedly molested and her husband was attacked by a group of people at a restaurant cum bar in Gurugram. The whole incident happened on November 10. All the accused are absconding and the case has been registered against them.While speaking to media persons, ACP, Preet Pal said, "The incident happened on November 10. Case registered and an investigation is underway. We are trying to identify the accused."

'People's court' will punish defected MLAs: Siddaramaiah on SC ruling in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court allowed the disqualified rebel MLAs of Karnataka to contest in the upcoming by-polls on December 05. Speaking on it, former chief minister of Karnataka and Congress leader, Siddaramaiah said that if you look it as a morality point of view they (rebel MLAs) are not eligible to contest the election. He further said, "If anybody cross over to any political party, it will be disqualified and this is the order of the Supreme Court."On being asked about the fact that these MLAs can contest elections again, Siddaramaiah said, "He can contest by-elections and that is different thing but ultimately, the 'people court' will punish him."On being asked about if JD(S) is willing to support BJP, Siddaramaiah said, "I don't know why they are making such statements."

The animals and birds of Kanpur Zoo are facing severe problems from the toxic air, which went worse after Diwali celebration. The zoo authorities are taking several measures to curb the affect of the polluted air like they put big cats inside the shed if the air pollution level is high. Delhi and NCR remained enveloped in smog as air in the region plunged to 'severe' category. There are several reasons behind the toxic air, increasing vehicular pollution; stubble burning seems to be the biggest reason.

CRPF reviews security arrangement at Sonia Gandhi's house

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): The CRPF reviewed the security arrangement at Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi's house on November 13 in Delhi. Special Protection Group (SPG) cover was removed from the Gandhi family and they were accorded Z Plus security of CRPF. The Gandhis are now without SPG protection after 28 years. The decision to withdraw the SPG cover given to the family of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated by LTTE terrorists on May 21, 1991.

Siddaramaiah calls SC verdict on Karnataka MLAs 'a lesson' for legislators who wanted to defect

Bengaluru, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court allowed the disqualified rebel MLAs of Karnataka to contest in the upcoming by-polls on December 05. Speaking on it, former chief minister of Karnataka and Congress leader, Siddaramaiah said that he welcomed the whole judgment of the Supreme Court. He said, "I welcome the whole judgment, even that of Supreme Court allowing them (17 disqualified MLAs) to contest by-elections. It is a lesson for the MLAs who wanted to join any other political party on whims and fancies or coercion by other parties."

Maharashtra should get new govt before year ends: NCP's Ajit Pawar

Mumbai, Nov 13 (ANI): After the core committee meeting of NCP, party leader Ajit Pawar said a joint committee of NCP and Congress was established by Sharad Pawar to take further decisions on formation of government in Maharashtra. "Our leader Jayant Patil and Congress president Balasaheb Thorat will take the decision together," said Ajit Pawar. "And later on the NCP and Congress party will talk to Shiv Sena," he further added. He also said, "Today in the meeting, all our MLAs said that government should be formed as early as possible. Even I think before the new year begins, Maharashtra should get a government.

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court allowed the disqualified rebel MLAs of Karnataka to contest in the upcoming by-polls on December 05. The court, while upholding the disqualification, struck down the time limit imposed by the then speaker, which would have lasted till the end of the term. Speaking on the Supreme Court's decision, Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa said that he welcomed the decision of Court. He said, "I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court which has given the verdict that all 17 MLAs can contest by-elections. Tomorrow onwards, we are going to go to all assembly constituencies. We are going to win all the 17 seats 101%." On being asked on 'are all the 17 MLAs joining BJP, Yediyurappa said, "Just wait till evening. I will discuss with them, I will discuss with the national leadership also. We will take an appropriate decision in the evening."
