New Delhi, Aug 01 (ANI): Diabetes might be associated with the diet and lifestyle of a person. A new study has found that women who start experiencing menstruation at an early age are at an elevated risk of type 2 diabetes. It also added that body mass index (BMI) might mediate this association. The findings of the study were published in the journal. 'Menopause'. Type 2 diabetes has become one of the most common diseases worldwide as it affected nearly 8.8 per cent of people aged 20 to 79 globally in 2015. This study incorporated around 15,000 postmenopausal women in China found that women who begin menstruating at an earlier age have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Talking more precisely, each year of delay in menarche age is associated with a 6 per cent lower risk of type 2 diabetes. New Delhi, Aug 01 (ANI): Former union minister Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday criticised AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for opposing the provision of three-year jail term in Triple Talaq Bill by comparing it to the one-year jail term for Hindu men, and said if the latter was so keen for bringing equality then he should ask the government to implement uniform civil code in the country. "Asaduddin Owaisi questioned that Hindu men will be jailed for 1 year and Muslim men for three years. If he is so keen on equality, why doesn't he ask the government to apply family laws equally to every citizen of India and have a common civil code?" asked Khan.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), July 31 (ANI): A woman was allegedly given triple talaq by her husband in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. While speaking to media on this matter, the victim said, "He (my husband) told me to arrange money for him. When I refused, he threw our daughter on floor and gave me Triple Talaq. Under Islamic law, I have been divorced and I have to accept it." Meanwhile, Inspector of Ahmedabad FM Nayab said, "He had asked her (triple talaq victim) to get a loan and told her that if she doesn't arrange documents and he will give her divorce. We haven't been told if it was a case of triple talaq. We are investigating the matter. If it is indeed a matter of triple talaq we will take action accordingly." The incident took place a day after Triple Talaq Bill was passed in Rajya Sabha criminalising men for divorcing by uttering talaq thrice.

This effort of the people also registered in the Indian Book of Records for the biggest assembly of people to form a human water drop. Coimbatore (TN), July 31 (ANI): Students of Coimbatore Medical College formed a human-chain protesting against the National Medical Commission Bill, 2019. Terming the bill unconstitutional, several doctors and medical students from all over the country protested against the bill. Many doctors burnt the bill in various medical colleges as a mark of the protest. The bill provides for setting up of a NMC in place of Medical Council of India (MCI) and repeal the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

Banjul (Gambia), July 31 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind held delegation level talks with his Gambian counterpart Adama Berow in Banjul on Wednesday. Both the Presidents are expected to review the entire gamut of bilateral relations and discuss issues of mutual interest. India will extend assistance of US$500,000 in support of skill development and cottage industry projects in the Gambia. New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said on Wednesday that the Centre has approved increasing strength of Supreme Court judges from 30 to 33. "In 2016, the number of judges has been increased from 30 to 33 in Supreme Court" said Prakash Javadekar in a press conference. Once Parliament gives approval to the bill, the apex court will have a sanctioned strength of 34, including the CJI.

Vadodara (Gujarat), July 31 (ANI): Teachers in schools running under Primary School Committee of Vadodara District Panchayat have adopted a unique way to welcome their students in the classroom under the 'Bal Satkar' program, which kick-started from July 01. Teachers folded their hands to form 'Namaste' to greet the students. Students were welcomed with different greeting styles, from 'Chota Bhim' gesture to high five.
