Army jawan, Ajit Kumar Sahoo was injured in an IED blast in Pulwama on Monday and succumbed to his injuries yesterday. Terrorists had attacked a mobile vehicle patrol of 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) with an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Arihal area of Pulwama district on Monday.

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot recently met the Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to discuss various financial issues related to the state. In the meeting he requested the centre to give approval to proposals of several pending drinking water projects and ensure timely release of funds of the centrally-sponsored schemes. Gehlot said that as per the past practice the state's share in the central taxes should be released to the respective states on the first date of the month. The states have to make payments towards salaries and pension on the first date, which becomes very difficult. The Chief Minister further requested the Finance Minister that financial proposals of seven drinking water projects costing Rs 5473 crore should be approved at the earliest. New Delhi, June 18n (ANI): Janata Dal (United)'s MP Dinesh Chandra Yadav defended Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey for asking the cricket score during a meeting on the AES outbreak. While speaking to ANI, Yadav said, "During India-Pakistan matches, there's nationalism in people's heart, they want India to win. They did everything seriously in the meeting and asked for score in between, the Opposition's allegations aren't true." India was playing with Pakistan on Sunday when, during a meeting on the AES outbreak, Pandey asked how many wickets had fallen. The video went viral soon after and Pandey was heavily trolled.
Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 18 (ANI): Death toll due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar's Muzaffarpur rose to 108 on Tuesday. As many as 89 children have died in Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital, while 19 others lost their lives in Kejriwal Hospital. While speaking to ANI, Sunil Kumar Shahi, Superintendent at SKMCH said, "Chief Minister met the patients and their relatives. He was satisfied with the present medical treatment being provided and ordered us to release a bulletin daily at 3pm. He was pained by the fact that adequate facilities for treatment were not available here."AES is a viral disease, which causes mild flu-like symptoms such as high fever, and headache.
New Delhi,June 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Muzaffarpur Ajay Nishad suggested '4G formula' for encephalitis deaths in his constituency. He said, "I believe that we should concentrate and work on 4G - Gaon, Garmi, Gareebi, Gandagi (village, heat, poverty, uncleanliness). This disease (AES) is somewhere connected to these factors."He added, "Most of the affected children belong to poor families because they are exposed to hot and humid conditions which are responsible for the disease. Patients coming in are very poor, most of them are from SC category and other backward classes. Their lifestyle belongs to a very low category. That needs to be raised. Parents take time to understand when their children fall sick, they need to be made aware." A total of 108 children have died due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) so far.

Siliguri, Kolkata (WB), June 18 (ANI): After a week-long doctors' agitation, people queued at NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata as services were resumed today. It was the same hospital where a doctor was attacked by family of a patient that led to protests across the country over doctor's assault. Doctors in the state called off their strikes yesterday after the meeting with the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. As the result, North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri, also resumed their OPD services.
Mumbai, June 18 (ANI): Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders protested at Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday. They demanded over the issues of farm loan waiver and state government policies. While speaking to ANI, former chief minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan said, "Government has too many chances to waive the farmer's loan but they didn't take any steps in this regarding. They are showing the false records of waiving farmer's loan. Farmer waive loan is compulsory and we will demand it for until we will not get it." As per the recent reports, 88 children have died in Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), while 19 others have lost their lives in Kejriwal Hospital. SKMCH's Superintendent Sunil Kumar Shahi said that the reason behind this outbreak is lack of awarenesss in people about the viral disease. The tale of death toll is rising day by day, many people still don't have even basic information about the disease.Meanwhile, CM Nitish Kumar reached at the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur. Chennai, Jun 18 (ANI): During Bus Day celebrations on Monday, college students in Chennai climbed and sat on top of moving buses. They were also hanging out from the window bars. The driver suddenly applied brakes; nearly 20 of them fell from the bus. Police detained 24 students in connection with the incident.

New Delhi, Jun 18 (ANI): Domino's Pizza is reportedly working on deploying mini delivery vans to bring your favourite pizza at your doorstep at the end of the year. As Fast Company reports, the pizza chain will be running a small trial in Houston, later this year, using the fully autonomous R1 mini delivery van which is built by Nuro. R1 is a compact vehicle with no space for a human operator, which basically means, if it heads towards a wrong address, there is no human intervention. However, it can drive upto 25 miles per hour and will deliver pizza only when you enter an OTP to open the pizza compartment.
