Aralia (West Tripura District), May 03 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, an automobile mechanic in Tripura has prepared an electric bike keeping in mind social distancing norms. Automobile mechanic, Partha Saha said, "The bike showcases that during lockdown if you want to get out of the house then you must follow social distancing." He has modified a regular, petrol-run motorcycle by replacing the petrol engine with a 750-Watt DC motor and a 48-volt battery. He used bicycle seats in the front and rear at a one-metre distance. On a single charge, the motorcycle can run 80 kms and he used bicycle seats in the front and rear at a one-metre distance to give the message of social distancing. Partha thinks that this attempt might hopefully promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' program and encourage entrepreneurship.
New Delhi, May 03 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 3 informed that the Delhi government will not be able to sustain the lockdown for long as the economy is in peril. "The revenue has fallen from Rs 3500 crores in April month of previous years to Rs 300 crores this year. How will the government function?," said Kejriwal. Centre has extended the lockdown for two more weeks.

Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu), May 03(ANI): Corona outbreak and nationwide lockdown has affected the fishermen in Rameshwaram to great extent. Fishermen are unable to repair their boats due to lack of spare parts amid lockdown. The annual 60-day fishing ban, which begins annually on April 15 to protect marine fisheries, will begin on April 15 when fishermen will work on repairing their boats and maintaining fishing equipments, including their nets. Workers are now unable to work as curfew is in effect. Some people are employed, but they are unable to work on the boats as there are no parts to repair it. Fishermen have demanded the government to take steps to open lath workshops, wooden spare part shops to repair the boats and to exempt curfew period for workers to work.
New Delhi, May 03 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 3 informed that the Delhi government is going to provide all the relaxations which Centre has given to the red zones. He also informed that all the government offices are going to reopen from May 4, which is Monday after the first implementation of lockdown in March.

Mumbai, May 03(ANI): Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) commenced the work of constructing a 1000 bedded COVID-19 hospital at MMRDA ground in Bandra Kurla Complex. The MMRDA on the instruction of the government of Maharashtra has stepped up to construct 1000 beds hospital to provide quarantine and isolation facilities for non-critical COVID-19 patients. It will have the facilities of pathology labs to conduct general blood tests of patients. Safety and cleanliness will be on utmost priority with sewage and bio-degradable waste disposable systems in place. Also, dedicated units with kitchen facility will be built for doctors and health staff like in regular hospitals.
Panchkula (Haryana), May 03 (ANI): Retired Brigadier Chandrakant Sood expressed his emotions by saying that nation should honour the young bloods, who lost their lives for the nation in whatever way they can. Chandrakant Sood is a father of Major Anuj Sood, who lost his live in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara. "He has made a supreme sacrifice. It was part of his duty and what he was trained for. I feel sad for his wife as they just got married 3-4 months back. He was meant to save lives," said the proud father. Five Army personnel were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara on May 2.

One of the vegetable farmers said, "Our vegetables are rotting as mandis are closed, government should open the mandis and they should provide us with labourers. Our labourers have left for their hometown therefore we are facing lot of problems in plucking vegetables."

New Delhi, May 03 (ANI): Union health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan informed that more than 10,000 COVID-19 patients were discharged till May 03 across the nation. While talking to ANI, Harsh Vardhan said, "Today, more than 10,000 COVID-19 patients have been discharged. Those still admitted at hospitals are on the road to recovery. If in last 14 days doubling rate was 10.5 days, then today it's around 12 days." "At least 18 health care workers got infected from coronavirus at Lady Hardinge Medical College's," the Minister further added. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan has visited Lady Hardinge Hospital in view of coronavirus pandemic. According to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 2,644 new COVID-19 positive cases and 83 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
New Delhi, May 03 (ANI): CRPF Headquarters in Delhi has been sealed for sanitisation till further orders after a staff of one of the top officers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) tested COVID-19 positive. No one will be allowed to enter the building. Total 40 officers and staff including a Special Director General rank officer, Deputy Inspector General to be home quarantined.
