Lockdown to be implemented in Aurangabad and 5 other jails in Maharashtra: Anil Deshmukh

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Apr 19 (ANI): Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that prisons in Maharashtra have more inmates than their actual capacity. "So we've decided to implement lockdown at Aurangabad jail -arrangements for food and stay of police personnel will be made inside jail. No one will be allowed to come out or go inside," said Home Minister. "Similar decision has been taken for 5 more jails in Maharashtra," he added.

Goa goes corona free, informs CM Pramod Sawant

Panaji (Goa), Apr 19 (ANI): Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant said that there are no COVID-19 positive cases reported in the state after April 03. While talking to ANI, "I am delighted to announce that currently there is not a single COVID-19 positive patient. After April 03, there is no COVID-19 positive case reported in Goa," said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The Chief Minister thanked his health professionals and workers of the state.

Health Ministry confirms 1334 new COVID-19 cases and 27 deaths in last 24 hours

"With this the total cases in the country have mounted up to 15712 and deaths to 507. No new case has been reported in Mahe in Puducherry and Karnataka's Kodagu in the last 28 days.

Mumbai, Apr 19 (ANI): The catering businesses in Dharavi in central Mumbai have been shut for more than a month now. Labourers, here are living in uncertainties here between lives and livelihoods. On one hand, migrant workers don't have any job to earn some pennies, on other hand they can't go back to their native homes. William, who runs a catering business in country's commercial capital, Mumbai said, "I am in double pressure right now, I have to feed myself and my workers also." However, William has sent some of workers back to village but left ones are stuck here. All of them are from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Dharavi's economy has gone down after huge number of people infected with the highly contagious COVID-19. Health Ministry confirms 2144 COVID-19 dedicated facilities in India

People without masks won't get petrol at fuel retail outlets

New Delhi, Apr 19 (ANI): All India Petroleum Dealers Association President Ajay Bansal informed that to ensure the safety of the staff and the people, who come to the petrol station, no petrol will be given without masks. Decision on UPSC, SSC exams to be taken after May 3: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Apr 19 (ANI): Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exam and SSC (Staff Selection Commission) dates will be decided in such a manner that sufficient time will be given to all the aspirants to reach their designated exam centres. "UPSC and SSC examinations that were put on hold due to lockdown, will definitely take place. We will take a call after May 3 and reschedule dates in a manner that it gives sufficient time to all the aspirants to reach to their designated examination centers," said Union Minister, Jitendra Singh while talking to ANI.

New Delhi, Apr 19 (ANI): Central government is not cutting the pension of senior citizens or transferring the pension money to any COVID fund. While talking to ANI, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, "Government has neither held any discussion nor considered cutting the pension of senior citizens. Also, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government can never take such an insensitive step of transferring the pension money of people above 80 years of age to COVID fund."

COVID-19 lockdown: Woman delivers baby at dentist clinic in Bengaluru

Bengaluru (Karnataka), Apr 19 (ANI): Amid the lockdown in the nation, a pregnant woman delivered a baby at dentist clinic in Bengaluru. The pregnant woman had reached the clinic along with her husband after walking for around 7 kilometers. The Dentist, Doctor Ramya, who made her delivery possible, said, "The baby wasn't responding initially, so we thought baby is dead but later we were able to resuscitate it. The data is improving every day. The doubling rate of patients in the last 14 days was 6.2 days. When it was calculated for the last 7 days it turned out to be 7.2 days. Speaking to ANI, he gave a message to all the corona positive patients. "I was on-duty in Yusuf Sarai area, when I experienced bodyache, high fever and problems in breathing.
