Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 28 (ANI): A woman gave birth to a child on street in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on February 27. She gave birth to her child outside government hospital after doctors refused to admit her to hospital. While speaking to ANI, the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of Bahraich DK Singh said, "The staff refused to attend her as she was out of hospital premises. I will take action against the guilty." The investigation is underway and more details are awaited in this regard.
Hyderabad, Feb 28 (ANI): Around three children died and one got injured after a wall of their house collapsed in Hyderabad on February 27. The incident took place in Mangar Basti area of Hyderabad, which comes under Habeeb Nagar police station limits. The injured have been admitted in Niloufer Hospital Intensive Care Block. Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Feb 28 (ANI): The first inter-college sports festival was organised under 'Khelo India' at Govt PG College in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri. Hundreds of participants participated in the festival. Students participated in various sports including, tug of war, cricket etc. The best performers were accorded with medals. "We are very happy. Sports empower girls. It is a great chance as earlier girls don't get such chances easily," one of the participants told ANI.
New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): Delhi Southeast DCP RP Meena informed that police received info through social media that people will come to Shaheen Bagh on March 01. "We had received info through social media that a large group of people will come to Shaheen Bagh from Madanpur Khadar on March 1. We took it seriously, in light of the current situation. We came to know that locals will join in and carry out a peaceful protest. We called a meeting of Aman Committee at different locations today, then all the stakeholders were called here at the DCP office. Everyone agreed that they will stay peaceful and the protest will be postponed indefinitely," said Southeast DCP amid Delhi violence.
Visakhapatnam (AP), Feb 28 (ANI): Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 1638 kg of cannabis worth Rs 2.45 crore. The Marijuana was procured at Visakhapatnam and was being taken to Bhubaneswar. It was carried out in bags concealed under banana stalks. Four persons who were involved have been nabbed and further investigation is on.
New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): Locals in Chand Bagh area of Northeast Delhi formed a human chain to protect Sri Durga Fakiri Mandir in the area when violence broke out there. It was alleged that during human chain formation, rioters pelted stones on the locals. Speaking to ANI, temple's priest Om Prakash said, "Locals - both Hindus and Muslims were alert. They saw to it that no outsider comes here." Meanwhile, a localite Asif said, "We formed a human chain and didn't let the rioters step forward. Many of us suffered injuries after rioters pelted stones. But we didn't let them step forward because this isn't just a temple, it's a symbol of our prestige. Hindus and Muslims protected this temple together." Communal riots have engulfed the Northeast region of Delhi where violent clashes between pro and anti-CAA groups turned communal and killed 38 people till Thursday.

New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on February 27 informed about the evacuation of Indian nationals from China and Japan. He said that India has evacuated 195 Indians foreign nationals from Wuhan, China and Japan in two special flights today. "We evacuated 195 Indians and 41 foreign nationals from Wuhan, China and Japan and brought them to India in two special flight today morning. Till date, a total of 842 Indians and 48 foreign nationals have been evacuated from China and Japan," said Kumar. China's Wuhan is the epicenter of the dreadful coronavirus.

Chandigarh, Feb 27 (ANI): Haryana Minister Ranjit Chautala on February 27 said that riots are routine and are part of life. He said, "Riots keep taking place. They have been taking place earlier also. When Indira Gandhi was assassinated, the entire Delhi was burning. This is part of life, keeps happening." New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal announced that those who got injured in North-East Delhi violence can get medical treatment in any private hospital under 'Farishte' scheme from now-onwards. "Under Delhi Govt's 'Farishte' scheme, free of cost medical treatment at any private hospital, those affected in this violence can get medical treatment," said CM Kejriwal in a press conference in New Delhi. Delhi Government also announced compensation to families of those who have died in North-East Delhi violence.
New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Over the accusation of Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma's killing during Delhi violence, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Councillor from Nehru Vihar, said that he is ready for investigation. "I have nothing to do with the killing of Ankit Sharma. There should be a thorough investigation of this matter," said Tahir Hussain. "On February 24, police conducted a search of my building and moved us out from there and later, we shifted to a safe location. Till 4pm on Feb25, police were present at the building." The family members of Ankit Sharma have accused Tahir Hussain for the killing. Amid the violence incidents in North-East Delhi, Ankit Sharma's dead body was found in drain at Chand Bagh area on February 26.
New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on February 27 slammed Congress over Delhi violence and blaming BJP for it. He took a pot shot at Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi by comparing her December 14, 2019 speech 'Is paar ya us paar' to Rajiv Gandhi's 1984 'big tree falls' statement and said that her speech also instigated the mob. Earlier in the day, Congress delegation led by Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh met President Ram Nath Kovind over Delhi violence.
Dehradun, Feb 27 (ANI): Speaking on the transfer of Delhi High Court Judge S Muralidhar, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad countered Congress leaders' allegations of it being politically motivated. Ravi Shankar stated that these allegations are baseless. He said, "Justice S Muralidhar's transfer was pursuant to recommendation dated 12 February 2020 of SC Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI). As of process, consent of the judge in question was taken. Two other judges have also been transferred like him by following the process. All the allegations are baseless."

The delegation was led by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh met the President to seek peace and normalcy in violence-hit Delhi. Speaking on it, Special Commissioner (Law and Order) of Delhi Police, SN Shrivastava said, "As of now, the situation is returning to normal. We are registering cases and proceeding with legal action, soon we will be making arrests. I hope all these things will contribute to normalcy." Speaking on the conditions in East Delhi, Commissioner of East Delhi Municipal Corporation, Dr Dilraj Kaur said, "We had a coordination meeting today. It's a coordinated team effort with Delhi Police. We will be deploying our resources to clean up the areas. We'll try our best to bring it to normalcy as soon as possible."
