Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 19 (ANI): A woman from UP's Bhadohi has accused BJP MLA Ravindranath Tripathi of raping her. She has put similar allegations against his family as well. Speaking about the matter, Bhadohi SP, Ram Badan Singh said, "A woman had made allegation that nephew of her MLA, Sandip Tiwari has made physical relationship with her in pretext of marriage. Later on, she made the same allegation against the MLA and his family members. Based on her written statement, we have registered a case. We have made a team which is investigating the case."
New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices ended four days of losing streak on Wednesday as worries about the coronavirus epidemic ebbed in Asian markets after a slight decline in the number of new cases. Investors hoped that officials will roll out more stimulus to support the world's second-largest economy. The BSE S and P Sensex closed 429 points or over 1 per cent higher at 41,323 while the Nifty 50 edged up by 138 points to 12,130. All other sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty pharma up by 2.32 per cent, FMCG by 1.47 per cent, metal by 1.34 per cent and realty by 1.12 per cent. Among stocks, Vodafone Idea jumped by more than 38 per cent to Rs 4.19 per share after some reports said the government is unlikely to invoke the company's bank guarantees. Kolkata, Feb 19 (ANI): Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee spoke on death of former All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Pal, who died after suffering cardiac arrest, at an event in Kolkata on February 19. She said, "Central government's pressure has claimed so many lives. Three people have died due to this pressure by the agencies. Former TMC MP Sultan Ahmed, TMC MP Prasun Banerjee's wife passed away and now Tapas Pal has died." Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Feb 19 (ANI): National general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ram Madhav informed that if state governments bring up good projects for the welfare of their respective states, they will get assistance from centre. He said, "In this budget, we made special efforts to give compulsory support to the states based on their performance. Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Feb 19 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh informed that the 3 Hizbul Mujaheedin terrorists who were killed in the Tral encounter by the Army on February 19 also involved Jahangeer, who was a commander of the terror outfit. "The 3 terrorists killed in encounter in an operation by the Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and J-K Police in Tral of Pulwama district, have been identified as Jahangeer Rafiq Wani, Raja Umar Maqbool Bhat and Uzair Amin Bhat," the J-K DGP said in a press conference in Srinagar. J-K DGP said, "In total, 10 operations in which 2 have taken place in Jammu and 8 in Kashmir have been successfully conducted in the year 2020. 19 terrorists in Kashmir and 4 in Jammu have been neutralised so far."

Speaking to the media persons prior to the meeting, Hegde said, "We have come here according to the order of Supreme Court. We hope to speak to everyone. We hope to resolve the matter with everybody's cooperation." The protest in Shaheen Bagh has been going on for over 2 months now. The protesters have blocked a road which is causing distress to commuters on Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch. SC had appointed Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran as interlocutors to resolve the issue.
