Srinagar (J and K), Jan 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Vijay Kumar said that 3 terrorists were nuetralised in encounter which broke out on January 25 in Awantipora. Vijay Kumar said, "3 militants were neutralised. With inputs from our intelligence, it includes Kari Yasir, who is Jaish-self styled Kashmir chief. We had received info that he was planning to carry out a big IED blast in Srinagar with Burhan. Identification of other two is underway."
Srinagar (J-K), Jan 25 (ANI): Lt General KJS Dhillon on January 25 briefed about the Awantipora encounter which is still going on. He said that Jaish-e-Mohammed's major operation on Republic Day has been averted. "Today morning we got information of some Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists who were planning to do some act of terrorism on January 26 in Tral. So, today morning the operation was launched. The operation is still underway," said Dhillon.
New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended 'Jeet Ki Goonj' program in Delhi on Janaury 25. Addressing at the event, Amit Shah targeted Opposition for supporting people in Shaheen Bagh who are protesting against Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Shah said "Press the button of lotus so firmly that only with its current forces Shaheen Bagh protesters to leave." The protest in Shaheen Bagh has entered in 41st day today.
Attari (Punjab), Jan 25 (ANI): Cultural programme was held at Attari-Wagah border in Punjab with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal on the eve of Republic Day. Artist displayed different culture and tradition of the country by folk dances. The event was organised ahead of 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony. 'Beating the Retreat' was started in 1959 as a goodwill gesture at Attari-Wagah border, the road checkpost between India and Pakistan. The ceremony is not only a daily drill performed by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers but it has also emerged as a major tourist attraction on both sides of the Radcliff Line.
New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): An under construction building in Bhajanpura area of North East district of Delhi collapsed today. A coaching centre was being run in the building. 12 students have been rescued from the site. Seven fire units have been sent to the site. Rescue operations underway.

Awantipora (J-K), Jan 25 (ANI): An encounter between security forces, police and terrorists is underway in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora. As reports by the J-K police top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander and two other hardcore terrorists are suspected to be trapped in the encounter. Whole area is being cordoned off and further details are underway.
Pune (Maharashtra), Jan 25 (ANI): Ahead of Union Budget 2020 is to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the students of Pune expressed their demands. Students are demanding for separate budget for research. Also, students want higher percentage of budget to be invested in education sector. A student said, "Students should be helped and inspired for new research and innovation." A student demanded that the standard of education should be equal in private and government institutions. A scholar said, "The development done in government schools of Delhi by Kejriwal government is good. We are still lagging behind in Maharashtra. The Centre should do something about practical knowledge and e-learning, on the footsteps on Delhi government." Another student added that developing countries invest larger percentage in education, so we should increase education budget. FM Nirmala Sitharaman will present on February 01.

Doda (J-K), Jan 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh visited Doda to review arrangements ahead of Republic Day celebrations. He said, "I have just returned from Srinagar where I paid a visit to all the parts of Kashmir including central Kashmir, Srinagar. All arrangements are in place for the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow."
Guwahati (Assam), Jan 25 (ANI): Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Shaheen Bagh protest said that State Government has taken cognizance of statement by main organizer Sarjil, who said Assam should be cut off from the rest of India. "The main organizer of Shaheen Bagh protest (in Delhi), Sarjil has said that Assam should be cut off from the rest of India. State government has taken cognizance of this seditious statement and has decided to register a case against him," said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Awantipora (JandK), Jan 25 (ANI): In a joint operation of Army, CRPF and JandK Police, seven persons have been nabbed from different areas of Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora. The nabbed persons were used to provide shelter and other necessities to the terrorists. Their links to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen have also come into light. Huge cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered. Further investigation is underway.
Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 25 (ANI): Nepal Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada on India's decision ban imports of refined palm oil, said Himalayan nation had no intimation and decision came as a shock. "25 per cent of our exports to India is related to palm oil industry, so that will adversely affect our industry. There was no prior indication, so it was like a shock. We do hope that Indian government will reconsider its decision. We are discussing this through our diplomatic channel, if necessary we can also go through political channel," said Nepal FM.
