Demonstrators raised slogans against the move. Nationwide protests have intensified with the New Citizenship Act. Pre-training of CAPF Mountaineering Expedition 2020 begins in Auli

Auli (Uttarakhand), Jan 10 (ANI): Pre-training of first ever joint CAPF Mountaineering Expedition 2020 to the Mt Everest started at ITBP Mountaineering and Skiing Institute in Uttarakhand's Auli. 51 members of 5 CAPFs- BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF and SSB are part of the team. The team includes 8 women mountaineers. The expedition has planned to summit the Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in May this year.

Iran-US conflict: Expect energy prices to remain reasonable, says Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Supreme Court delivered a verdict on petitions on situation in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370 on Jan 10. SC said that indefinite internet ban is not permissible under our Constitution, it is an abuse of power. Speaking on it, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "I would like to thank honourable Supreme Court for a very historic decision. Each individual in Jammu and Kashmir was eagerly waiting for this decision. Supreme Court has made it clear that government should publish all the orders passed since Aug 05, 2019. Court has also said that any order on internet comes under judicial scrutiny."

Markets open in the green

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): The Indian Stock Market started in green on Jan 10. The BSE Sensex continued with its upward trend. It rose over 207 points or 0.50 per cent at 41,659 at 11 in the morning. The Nifty too rose 64 points at 12,280 in the two hours of trade today, driven by gains in IT, private banks, auto, healthcare stocks, amid positive domestic and global cues. Bulls regained control amid softening crude oil prices on Thursday following optimism in global markets after US President Donald Trump's comments on the Iran conflict eased worries and improved risk appetite. The cooling off of oil prices lifted market sentiment, as India imports more than 85 per cent of its requirement.

Samba (Jammu and Kashmir), Jan 10 (ANI): Samba Police arrested a wanted terrorist who surrendered in past and joined mainstream. Parvez Ahmed, 53-year-old surrendered in 1998 and got a government job under 'surrender policy'. Speaking on it, SSP of Samba district Shakti Kumar Pathak said, "He was found in such a place where he shouldn't be present that is why we doubt him. We are also verifying the other inputs as well. According to him, he was connected with Al-Inquilab, earlier but then he surrendered in 1998. He also got a government job under 'surrender policy'."

RBI announces auction of 63-Day GOI Cash Management Bill

New Delhi, Jan 10(ANI): The Reserve Bank of India announced the auction of 63-Day Government of India Cash Management Bill. Auction will be conducted using 'Multiple Price Auction' method. Competitive bids for the auction will be submitted in electronic format on E-Kuber between 10:30 am and 12:00 noon and the result of the auction will be announced on the same day. Cash Management Bills are short term bills issued by the Central Government to meet its immediate cash needs.

Indefinite internet ban is abuse of power: SC on JandK restrictions

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Today Supreme Court delivered a verdict on petitions on situation in JandK after abrogation of Article 370, speaking on this Advocate Shadan Farasat said that SC said that indefinite internet ban is not permissible under our Constitution, it is an abuse of power. "The Court said that indefinite internet ban by the State is not permissible under our Constitution and it is an abuse of power," said Advocate Sadan Farasat.

2 IEDs found in Chhattisgarh's Sukma, later diffused
