New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): Additional Sessions Judge Pinki on Sunday inspected the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi where violent clashes had broke out between Delhi Police and lawyers over parking issue. At least 20 police officials and several lawyers were injured in the scuffle in which public properties including police vans were damaged. The 'Lok Adalat' scheduled for today in court has been cancelled. Bar Council of India Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra accused the police officials of starting the scuffle and said it was a brutal action by forces against lawyers.

New Delhi, Nov 3 (ANI): Leading a physically active lifestyle is a must for older adults as it reduces deaths from heart disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease, and mental illness, says a study. A team of researchers looked more carefully at the relationship between death and physical exercise among older adults in Brazil where the number of older adults grew 40 per cent between 2002 and 2012.Their study was published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. During the study, from January to August 2014, researchers conducted home interviews with 1,451 adults older than 60. Of these, 971 participants were given wrist monitors to measure their physical activity. Researchers also asked participants about their smoking habits and how they would rate their health. Additionally, researchers learned about the chronic health conditions participants said they had, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, Parkinson's disease, kidney failure, high cholesterol, depressi

New Delhi/ Patna (Bihar)/ Gorakhpur, Lucknow (UP), Nov 02 (ANI): Devotees celebrated Chhath Puja with religious zeal in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur and Bihar's Patna. The 'Puja' is dedicated to the Sun god, the source of energy. It is a four day festival that is being celebrated this year from October 30 to November 3. On Chhath Puja, women perform the morning Puja by standing in a water body and offering water to the Sun and his sister Shashti Devi. Chhath Puja is largely celebrated in Indian states of Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. The festival begins with certain rituals and practices that involve 'Nahay Khay', followed by 'Lohanda and Kharna', 'Sandhya Argh' and 'Suryodaya'. The first sun ray is called Usha and last sun ray is called Pratyusha. The first and last sun rays are considered auspicious and worshipped during Chhath Puja.
