Gurugram (Haryana), Oct 16 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday appealed to the voters in Haryana's Gurugram to press the lotus button so hard that its current gets felt in Italy. "Will you make PM Modi's hands stronger? Will you make Manohar Lal ji CM again? Will you press the button with lotus symbol? Press the lotus button so hard that it is pressed in Gurugram but the current is felt in Italy," Shah said while addressing the rally ahead of state elections in Haryana. Haryana will go to polls on October 21, while the counting of votes will take place on October 24.
New Delhi, Oct 16 (ANI): Hindu Mahasabha representative Kunal Kishore, who is also the publisher of the map which was torn by Sunni Waqf Board advocate Rajeev Dhavan in Supreme Court on October 16, said, "He is an intellectual. He thought if this map is presented before the court, his case will become non-existent. If he had objections, he could have said that in the time that was given to him." On the last day of daily hearings in the Apex Court on the Ayodhya case, a senior lawyer tore up a map which infuriated the judges. The Supreme Court reserved its judgement in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case after hearing arguments from all the concerned parties.
Raigad (Maharashtra), Oct 16 (ANI): While addressing a public rally in Maharashtra's Raigad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said, "Formula of Narendra and Devendra have been super-hit in the last 5 years. In the time to come it will take Maharashtra to the new heights of development. When Narendra and Devendra stand together then 1+1 becomes 11 and not 2." Maharashtra, which has 288-member assembly, will go to polls on October 21, while the counting of votes will take place on October 24.

New Delhi, Oct 16 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its judgement in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case after hearing arguments from all the concerned parties. Sunni Waqf Board's advocate Zafaryab Jilani said, "We are satisfied with our arguments and evidences, all of these have been placed in front of the court now court will take its decision." The advocate added that every party got their chance and the court has fully accommodated them. "The hearing was held in a very cordial environment and the end was also very cordial," added Jilani. 'The court has given Ayodhya case the importance that it deserved', she further said.
New Delhi, Oct 16 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind will be paying a state visit to Philippines from 17 to 21st of October. He will be accompanied by First Lady Savita Kovind. The Ministry to External Affairs informed the media persons during a press briefing in the national capital. Ministry of External Affairs Secretary (East) Vijay Thakur Singh said that the President Kovind's visit is at the invitation of the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

Bharatpur (Rajasthan), Oct 16 (ANI): Family of Shrief Khan, a truck driver who was shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir on October 14, has refused to accept his dead body. They said, "We are demanding martyr status for him and adequate compensation." Two unknown terrorists including one from Pakistan on Monday attacked and killed a truck driver in Shopian district.
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Oct 16 (ANI): With just few days ahead of Diwali, Coimbatore Food Safety Department conducted awareness programme for sweet manufacturers. Manufacturers were also instructed on how to get temporary license for sweet production. Manufacturers were warned over the use of chemical colouring agents in sweets and reusing of oil. If any sweet manufacturer is found violating the food safety norms, legal action will be taken. Surprise raids will be conducted to monitor the sweet shops and manufacturers.
Dera Baba Nanak (Punjab), Oct 16 (ANI): Officials inspected the progress in the construction work of Kartarpur Corridor in Punjab's Dera Baba Nanak on October 16. The corridor will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8. The route connects the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Punjab's Gurdaspur with Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan. The corridor will facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims.

He said that "no application has been filed" by the board to withdraw their appeal, but any such application, if decided to be filed, will be given to the court.
Jalpaiguri (WB), Oct 16 (ANI): Wildlife officials of Jalpaiguri's Belacoba forest range seized 14-feet-long skin tiger skin and 110 pieces of bones including the skull of a fully matured Royal Bengal tiger. The team also apprehended two Bhutan nationals one of which is an ex-Army man. The police got the tipoff of transportation of wildlife particles to Kathmandu. The accused persons were taking the tiger skin and bones to Kathmandu where a person Kumar Rai was going to sell the tiger skin in 32 lakhs. Officials of Belacoba forest range in Jalpaiguri district seized 14-feet-long skin and 110 pieces of bones of a Royal Bengal tiger, yesterday. The team also arrested two Bhutan nationals.

While addressing a public rally in Tigaon, he lambasted the Congress over Article 370 issue. Shah said that thousands of people lost their lives to terrorism but the grand old party never scrapped the provision which provided special status to the militancy-hit state. He added that due to Article 370, Pakistan misled youths of Jammu and Kashmir and gave weapons in their hands. "Due to Article 370, Pakistan misled youth of JandK and gave weapons in their hands. In the era of terrorism that began during Congress government, from 90s till now, more than 40,000 people lost their lives to terrorism, but Congress never scrapped Article 370," Shah said. The voting of Assembly Elections in Haryana and Maharashtra will start on October 21 and results will be announced on October 24.

New Delhi, Oct 16 (ANI): Delhi Police busted inter-state gang of robbers and arrested two accused Amber Jafri and Mohd. Abbas. Accused Amber was carrying reward of Rs.50,000 declared by CP of Delhi. In order to earn quick money, accused persons started committing robbery and snatching and sooner they became expert in such crimes. Team of Delhi Police gathered information about these dreaded and rewarded criminals. Police team developed the information and a trap was laid at Madanpur Khadar area. Two persons on a motorcycle were seen coming from Yamuna Bank side. Finding surrounded by the police team, they tried to escape and the rider took out his pistol and tried to run away from the spot by pointing the pistol towards the police team. Police team successfully snatched the pistol of the accused and overpowered them. Police team has recovered sophisticated pistol, knife and motorcycle used for robbery from their possession.
Ayodhya (UP), Oct 16 (ANI): Section 144 has been imposed in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya ahead of the verdict on Ayodhya case. Security has also been beefed up in the region. Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi confirmed that the daily hearings on the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid land dispute will end by 5 pm on October 16. 5-judge Constitution bench, headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi began hearing in Ayodhya Ram Temple-Babri Masjid land case today. Today is the 40th day of hearing in the case. CJI Gogoi has refused to take any intervention application in the case. Judgment is likely to be passed on November 04-05.
