Leh (Ladakh), Sep 03 (ANI): Ladakh Festival began in Leh, Ladakh on September 02. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik inaugurated the festival. A large scale procession of cultural groups was taken out. Locals sang and danced wearing colourful traditional outfits.
Patna (Bihar), Sep 03 (ANI): Speaking at an event in Patna, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Modi said that there is no economic slowdown in Bihar. He said, "Some people are saying the economy is facing a slowdown, it's true that there has been a decline in the automobile sector. However, there has been no decline in sales of vehicles in Bihar, sales have increased compared to the last year." He further added, "I was reading in a newspaper that people have stopped buying biscuits, sales of a brand of biscuit have dropped. However, when I spoke to the biscuit manufacturers of Bihar they told me sales have increased in the state and the country."
New Delhi, Sep 03 (ANI): A four-storey building collapsed in Seelampur area of North-East Delhi. Several people are feared trapped in the debris at the site of accident which took place on night of Sep 02. Rescue operation is underway. More details are awaited.
Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh), Sep 03 (ANI): The Tibetan government in exile celebrated its 59th Democracy Day at the McLeodganj monastery in Dharamsala on Sep 02. Himachal Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning, Sarveen Choudhary attended the celebration. National Anthem was played at the occasion. Kalaburgi (Karnataka), Sep 02 (ANI): Located in the Kalaburgi district of Karnataka, the dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz is one of the most revered Sufi shrines in the country. Said to be a famous Sufi saint of the Chisti order, Gaisu Daraz was the disciple of the noted Sufi saint of Delhi, Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi, after whose death he took over the mantle of the successor. Born in Delhi in 1321, he shifted to Maharashtra along with his family at the age of four and in 1397; he went to Kalaburgi at the invitation of Sultan Taj-ud din Firuz Shah. There he spread Sufism and advocated understanding, tolerance and harmony among various religious groups, making him respected by one and all. Thronged by the people across religious faiths, the dargah of Gaisu Daraz is a wonderful example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Pulwama (J-K), Sep 02 (ANI): It is said that if we love all religions equally then there will be no incidence of conflicts. These words were recently proved right during the funeral of a Kashmiri pandit, Rattan Lal, when his Muslim neighbours gathered at his residence in Murran village of Pulwama to perform his last rites. Around 2000 in number, they not just provided their condolences to the Lal's family but also did all the arrangements of his funeral that too in accordance with Hindu rituals, setting a great example of communal harmony. Besides doing all the arrangements, they even helped the Lal's family in carrying his body to the cremation pyre. One among the few Kashmiri pandit families who decided to stay back during the tumultuous years of nineties when all Pandits were leaving the region, Lal's family seems to have got the reward of their courage. Devotees across the country used different types of materials to make 'Bappa' attractive. Ganesh Mandal in Nandigama town of Andhra Pradesh made Lord Ganesha idol with sugarcanes. The Ganesha idol is made with three tones of sugarcane and 10 people put their efforts for five days to complete' Buppa's' idol. This sugarcane Ganesha is attracting scores of people. Nandigama Ganesh Mandal is famous for coming up with unique Ganesha idols every year.

Keeping a special focus on women safety, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijayanta Arya educated women about the mobile application Himmat. She also asked women to remain watchful of the snatching, cyber fraud and any other type of troubles.
