No civilian causality in J-K, confirms J-K Governor

Srinagar (J-K), Aug 28 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik said that there is no civilian causality reported till date after the abrogation of Article 370. "Every Kashmiri life is valuable to us, we don't want loss of even a single life. There has been no civilian casualty, only the few who got violent are injured, they also have below the waist injuries," said Satya Pal Malik, while giving previous data of killings in J-K at a press conference in Srinagar.

Mobile connectivity resumed in Kupwara, Handwara districts: Satya Pal Malik

Srinagar (J-K), Aug 28 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday announced that the government was reopening mobile phone connections in Kashmir's Kupwara and Handwara districts, and would extend it to other districts soon. "The medium of phone and internet is used less by us and mostly by terrorists and Pakistanis as well as for mobilisation and indoctrination. It is a kind of weapon used against us so we have stopped it. Services will be resumed gradually," said J-K Governor in a press conference.

Think before giving statements as it could be used by Indian enemies: BJP on Rahul's tweet row

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nalin Kohli slammed Congress former president Rahul Gandhi over his tweet. He said that when it comes to national and strategic issues Rahul Gandhi should think before giving a statement because that could be used by those who are not India's friend (Pakistan). He also asserted that the recent tweets of Gandhi shows his anxiety and shows that he is coming backward. Recently Rahul Gandhi's tweets on Kashmir situation used by Pakistan media and he was also mentioned in a letter sent by Pakistan's Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Monday to bolster Islamabad's stand at the United Nations.

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Congress party defended themselves and hit back on Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Information - Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar over his statement on Rahul Gandhi on August 28. "The 'misinformation minister' of BJP government Prakash Javadekar has lost his political balance. Rahul Gandhi's clarification on J-K needs introspection within Congress: Baijayant Panda

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Baijayant Panda on August 28 said the Congress needs to introspect the clarification of party leader Rahul Gandhi on Jammu and Kashmir, adding that a number of statements of Congress leaders have been celebrated in Pakistan. Earlier in the day, Gandhi tweeted that Kashmir is India's internal issue and there was no room for interference for Pakistan, which Gandhi termed as "prime supporter" of terrorism across the world. Gandhi was forced to issue a clarification after Pakistan quoted him in their letter to United Nations (UN) over the issue of abrogation of Article 370 from J-K. Gandhi, who attempted to visit J-K, had said that people were dying in J-K.

Bengaluru's civic body goes tough on single-use plastic, says even consumers will be fined

Bengaluru, Aug 28 (ANI): Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the civic administration body of Karnataka capital, will intensify its effort in implementing the state-wide ban on single-use plastic, and besides small and big manufacturers, it will even penalise users for using single-use plastic. "In 2016, there was a statewide ban on single-use plastic by state government which is applicable to BBMP limits also. Implementation has not been in top gear," BBMP's Special Commissioner D Randeep said. "Now, we are ensuring that any user of plastic, be it domestic or big eateries or manufacturers, all this should completely cease. Even the user will be fined," he added.

13 people injured in acid attack in Bihar's Vaishali, 5 arrested
