Jammu, Aug 28 (ANI): Gujjar community held a protest in Jammu on August 28 over the heinous killing of two members of their community. Both the members were abducted from a forested area of Tral in Pulwama district. This is the first militant attack after the BJP-led NDA government abrogated provisions of Article 370 and announced bifurcation of the state into union territories on August 5.
Jammu, Aug 28 (ANI): Advisor to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, K Vijay Kumar on August 28 briefed the mediapersons about the current situation of the Valley after the abrogation of article 370 of the Indian Constitution. He said that administration is gradually opening up the schools in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation is different and administration is taking measures according to the situation. The advisor to JandK Governor also informed that the communication channels will be ultimately lifted but he didn't shared by when. Jammu and Kashmir is under high security after abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to the Valley.
New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Supreme Court allowed Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury to visit Jammu and Kashmir and meet his party leader and former MLA, Yousuf Tarigami. Though, SC has asked Yechury to not to indulge in any kind of political activity over there. On speaking about the permission from SC, Yechury said, "I am going there tomorrow to meet Yusuf Tarigami in Kashmir."
Mumbai, Aug 28 (ANI): Maharashtra MLAs staged protest outside government's guest house in Mumbai on August 28. They held the protest over denial of their entry in the cabinet meeting. Police came in to calm down the rebel MLAs. This happened for the first time that MLAs have been denied this way from Maharashtra Assembly.
New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): On being asked about the Pakistan's letter to UN over Rahul Gandhi's statement, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on August 28 said, "His foolish behaviour is a threat for Congress. We are always united for the interest of the country. It has never happened that parties are moving on different tangents for the betterment of the country. Rahul's statement is unfortunate." This comes after Pakistani Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari, on Tuesday said she has written a letter to 18 UN Special Procedures mandate on Kashmir issue. In her letter, Mazari has claimed that Rahul has noted that people are dying in Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): On being asked about Russia's stand over the abrogation of Article 370, Russian Ambassador to India, Nikolay Kudashev said, "This is the sovereign decision of Indian government, it's an internal matter of India. All issues existing between India and Pakistan should be resolved through dialogue on the basis of Shimla agreement and Lahore declaration."

I feel that it's a concerned issue, so government should tackle it with seriousness and should be alerted all the time as Pakistan will surely do something to make things worse in Jammu and Kashmir."
New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): The third lunar bound orbit maneuver for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was performed successfully on Wednesday using the onboard propulsion system, ISRO stated. The lunar bound orbit maneuver began at 9:04 hrs (India Standard Time). The orbit achieved is 179 km x 1412 km, ISRO added. The space agency stated that all spacecraft parameters are normal and the next lunar bound orbit maneuver is scheduled on August 30 between 6-7 pm. Chandrayaan-2 will explore a region of the moon where no mission has ever set foot. The spacecraft consists of an orbiter, a lander, and a rover together referred to as "composite body". ISRO chief K Sivan had on August 20 announced Chandrayaan-2's successful completion of lunar orbit insertion while stating that the mission would carry out a soft landing on the moon on September 7. The spacecraft will be the first Indian expedition to attempt a soft landing on the lunar surface. This mission will make India the fourth country after the US,
New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Congress has recently accused Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for taking money from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to which FM Sitharaman also back-lashed Rahul Gandhi over 'stealing'. Congress leader Kapil Sibal spoke to ANI on this matter and said, "First of all, it is very crucial matter and the question is why the government and Finance Minister had to take Rs 1, 76,000 from RBI. The reality is that country's GDP growth is slowing down. Finance Minister used to say that our tax base has broadened, so it is clear that tax returns have increased but money is not coming to the government in terms of direct taxes or GST. People are not getting jobs, which are creating resentment among them. Government has no money to rapidly increase our GDP growth. The economic condition of the country is not in a good condition."

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Aug 28 (ANI): In a bid to provide promotional and marketing support to weavers of Odisha, a special handloom expo of local handloom products was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Tuesday. As many as 30 leading Primary Weavers' Cooperative Societies (PWCS) of the state are participating in the expo. Textile department Director Jyoti Prakash Das said that the expo was the part of state government's regular exercise for facilitating sustainable livelihood to the weavers by providing a common platform for marketing and promotion of their products. The expo was organised by the Odisha State Handloom Teachers Coop Society Ltd, popularly known as BOYANIKA, which is the apex society of the state under the Textile and Handloom department.

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Aug 28 (ANI): Amit Jogi, son of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi, has responded to the high-powered committee set up to probe Ajit Jogi's caste status says he isn't a tribal. Amit Jogi said, "Caste of a son used to be identified by that of his father. But it's the opposite in Bhupesh Baghel's rule." Former CM Ajit Jogi said on August 28 that he will approach the court against the high-power government committee's finding that declared him a non-tribal.
Rewari (Haryana), Aug 28 (ANI): A 2.5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager, when she was playing outside her home in Dharuhera area of Haryana's Rewari. Locals assisted in the arrest of the 15-year-old boy within two hours of the crime, police said. Rewari SP, Nazneen Bhasin said, "Entire district police was on a mission. We checked the CCTV footage."

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 28 (ANI): A woman was thrashed by mob in Loni area of UP's Ghaziabad on suspicion of her being a child-lifter. Woman is in fact the grandmother of the child. Police said, "She went there with her grandson for shopping, when people attacked her. Strict action will be taken against those who circulated a video of her on social media calling her a child-lifter."
Surat (Gujarat), Aug 28 (ANI): Surat Court on Tuesday sent Naxal leader Kobad Ghandy to police remand till August 31.Ghandy was brought here from Jharkhand on Monday and was arrested by Surat police in connection with a case lodged in Kamrej police station in 2010. He was sent to Surat on a transfer warrant. The Naxal leader was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police in 2009. He was released on bail from Visakhapatnam central prison in December 2017. However, he was re-arrested later.
