New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): Congress leaders KTS Tulsi, PL Punia and Anand Sharma remembered former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who passed away on 24 August. While remembering Jaitley, all the congressmen talked about his intellectualism and good relationships with everyone. KTS Tulsi said, "I remembered him very fondly because he is the one who accepted me with open harms when I came here in 1990." Arun Jaitley passed away at the age of 66 on Saturday after suffering after a prolonged illness.
Chennai, Aug 25 (ANI): Students at a Chennai school adorned their rooftop with sketches of freedom fighters from Tamil Nadu. In an attempt to make Guinness World Record, students of Clarence Matriculation Higher Secondary School made sketches with chalks. The drawing teacher at school asserted on the importance of chalks in learning art. Hundreds of students from 1st to 10th standard participated in the attempt to beautify the space with patriotic colours.
Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu), Aug 25 (ANI): Strike by fishermen in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram continued for the third day. Fishermen are demonstrating against Central government demanding cancellation of GST on fishing industry. Number of fishing boats can be seen moored at fishing harbour. Fishermen have also announced rail picket strike in Rameswaram against Centre on August 28.
New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut defended the Jammu and Kashmir administration for sending back Congress MP Rahul Gandhi led Opposition delegation from the Srinagar airport. "If Rahul Gandhi wants to visit Jammu and Kashmir for touring then we will request the tourism department to make all the arrangements for those activities. He was sent back because there were chances that the situation could get dangerous," Raut told ANI. A delegation of leaders including Rahul Gandhi on Saturday was sent back to Delhi from Srinagar Airport.
Nagaur (Rajasthan), Aug 25 (ANI): A JCB operator died during a clash that broke out between the police and the villagers during an anti-encroachment drive in Taausar village of Rajasthan's Nagaur district. "We were acting on court's direction, but the villagers were incited by a few political people, they started to pelt stones at us, the police tried to control the situation. It's very unfortunate," said District Collector of Nagaur Dinesh Kumar Yadav.

Former finance minister died at the age of 66 at AIIMS in New Delhi on August 24. He will be cremated at Nigambodh Ghat.

New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): British High Commissioner to India Sir Dominic Asquith on Sunday paid tribute to former Union Minister Arun Jaitley at the latter's residence and recalled him as 'a man people in Britain treasured'. Speaking to ANI, Asquith said: "Jaitley was a man that many people in Britain treasured, knew well, worked with, valued him for his wisdom, gentleness and humour. He will be much missed." Mortal remains of Jaitley were brought to his residence in South Delhi on Saturday from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where he breathed his last. His final journey will begin from BJP headquarters to the Nigambodh Ghat, where the last rites will be performed. The former finance minister passed away, at the age of 66, at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, New Delhi on Saturday. He was admitted to the AIIMS earlier this month after he complained of restlessness. He was placed under observation at the hospital's Cardio Neuro Centre.
Mumbai, Aug 25 (ANI): Cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar flagged off 4th edition of 'Mumbai Half Marathon' in Bandra on August 25. Around 20,000 runners participated in the event, which is more than last year's participation. The marathon started from and concluded at BKC's Jio Garden. 'Half Marathon' was organised by NEB Sports. Participants have been certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), in association with AFI (Athletics Federation of India).
