Construction of toilets in UP significantly reduced children deaths from encephalitis: CM Yogi

Gorakhpur (UP) 14 Nov (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on November 14 said that construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission drastically reduced children deaths in the state. He said, "From 1977-2017, at least 50,000 children died due to encephalitis in East UP. Every year, 500-1500 cases of deaths were reported. Now when toilets are built, 21 deaths took place this year and we'll make sure that these too don't happen."

Business dips in Patna, Kottayam during festive season

Patna/ Kottayam, Nov 14 (ANI): As the country is celebrating Diwali today, markets wore a deserted look in Patna and Kottayam. People are avoiding marketplaces due to the COVID fear. Shopkeepers complained of dip in business during the festive season too. One of the shopkeepers said, "The sales have been reduced to 30-40% as people are not stepping out due to the COVID fear."

Daughter grieves as police arrest firecracker seller in UP, administration comforts girl

Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 14 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr police and district administration officials celebrated Diwali with a firecracker seller and his family on November 13. The seller was arrested by the police for selling crackers despite ban. A video of his daughter being very distraught during his arrest went viral. "We didn't want the child to incubate and harbour feelings of resentment towards police. So we thought of this humanitarian gesture. We also want to send the message that Diwali can be celebrated with one's family instead of just bursting crackers," said Lavi Tripathi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khurja.

Manoj Tiwari raises concerns over surging COVID cases in Delhi

Google Maps introduces 'Trips' tab to remind of previous vacations

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): Google Maps will soon roll out a new Trips tab in timeline on Android that can present customers an abstract of previous holidays and complete kilometres travelled. According to Mashable, Google Photos will quickly be receiving timeline as nicely that can enable customers to see the paths they took on a day, alongside images. The users may see and share previous journey itineraries and eating places. They will also get an option to have obtained confirmations, in their Gmail by tapping on the Trips tab on the desktop web site, google.com/journey. Hyderabad Police solves infant kidnapping case within 6 hrs of abduction

Police arrested a man, his wife, and sister for committing the crime in Falaknuma area. Panjab University professor traces roots of 1857 revolt slain soldiers

Chandigarh, Nov 13 (ANI): A professor of Panjab University traced identities of Ajnala skeletal, which was excavated in the year of 2014 from a well in Ajnala near Amritsar. Most of Ajnala teeth belonged to adult males between 20-50 years of age.
