Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday laid the foundation stone for four development projects worth Rs 120.76 crore in Faridabad and said the government is committed to accelerating the city's overall growth.
Addressing the 'Dhanyavaad Evam Viksit Faridabad Rally' here, Saini said significant work has been carried out over the past 11.5 years in infrastructure, connectivity, industry, Smart City development, metro expansion and digital services.
According to an official statement, the projects include the construction of a rest house at Rs 50.61 crore, a dispensary-cum-chief medical officer office at Rs 41.70 crore, laying of sewerage lines at Rs 25 crore, and a school building in Old Faridabad at Rs 3.45 crore.
The chief minister said the government aims to make Faridabad one of the cleanest cities in the country and unveiled a cleanliness mascot and a comic to promote public participation in sanitation drives.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Saturday reviewed the security and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir.
Gen. Chauhan visited the strategically-important areas under the Army's Chinar Corps unit, a defence spokesperson said.
During the visit, the CDS reviewed the security landscape and operational posture along the LoC in north Kashmir and commended the formation's exemplary operational preparedness, doctrinal coherence and resolute professionalism, he added.
The spokesperson said at Baramulla, the CDS was briefed on future force application and technology infusion.

The BJP on Saturday announced its fifth list of five candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal.
According to the list, Saurav Sikdar will contest the Dum Dum Uttar seat, Taraknath Chatterjee will enter the fray from Krishnanagar Uttar, Anupam Biswas from Kalyani, Anindya Raju Banerjee from Madhyamgram, while Rudraprasad Banerjee will contest the Uluberia Purba seat.
With this, the BJP has released the names of 292 candidates for the 294 seats in West Bengal, which will go to polls in two phases  on April 23 and April 29. The results will be announced on May 4.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday vowed to drive the BJP out of the state first and then from Delhi, while alleging that the Election Commission is running the administration despite an elected government.

The government has marginally exceeded the indirect tax collection target for fiscal 2025-26, an official said on Thursday.
The total indirect tax collection, which includes customs, excise and GST, as per Revised Estimates (RE) was pegged at over Rs 15.52 lakh crore for FY26. This includes Rs 2.58 lakh crore from customs duty, Rs 3.38 lakh crore from excise duty, and Rs 9.58 lakh crore from Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST).
Without giving actual figures, the official said that revenues from customs duty came in at 102 per cent of RE, while in case of excise duty it was 101 per cent of RE. The Central GST collection came in at 100.8 per cent of RE for FY26.
"Overall, GST plus non-GST collection came in at 101.2 per cent of RE," the official said.
However, the collection from health and national security cess, which is levied on pan masala manufacturing has missed the target.
