Mumbai, June 03 (ANI): With Cyclone Nisarga approaching Alibaug, India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist, Shubhangi Bhute informed that Nisarga has turned into severe cyclonic storm. "Cyclone Nisarga has turned to severe cyclonic storm. The wind speed will be gusting to 110-120 mph. Raigarh, Mumbai, Thane, Palgadh district to witness heavy rainfall. Kaccha house, trees, poles might get damaged. Today around 1-3 pm it will strict at south of Alibag," said IMD scientist.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Nisarga is approaching north Maharashtra coast with a speed of 13 kmph during past 6 hours. It is 155 km south-southwest of Alibaug and 200 km south-southwest of Mumbai. 5 trains that were to depart from Mumbai Terminal have been rescheduled, while 2 trains that were scheduled to arrive at Mumbai Terminal to be suitably regulated and one train has been diverted: Indian Railways.

Palghar (Maharashtra), June 03 (ANI): Due to the upcoming threat of Cyclone Nisarga, around 70 residents of Dahanu-Agar village, which is located near the sea coast, have been shifted to a rehabilitation centre in Dahanu area. All precautionary measures of COVID-19 have been taken by the authorities. One of the volunteers said, "All arrangements have been made here for males, females and even for the unwell people. COVID-19 precautionary measures have also been undertaken here." The cyclone is likely to make landfall near Alibaug on June .
Mallapuram (Kerala), June 03 (ANI): A pregnant elephant lost its life allegedly standing in water, after eating pineapples filled with crackers on May 27. Fruits with fire crackers were offered to her allegedly by some locals. The fruit exploded in her mouth, leading to the inevitable tragedy. The elephant eventually walked up to the Velliyar River and stood there with her mouth and trunk in water, perhaps for some relief from the unbearable pain. Local people informed the forest officials about the injured elephant. Doctors were present on the spot to carry out a post-mortem. The elephant was taken back inside the forest in a truck, where the forest officials cremated her. Forest official said, "We had called a doctor, but he was of the opinion that it might not be possible to revive back but we will see what all options we have."
New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): Facebook is set to unveil a new feature called 'Manage Activity' that lets users delete their old posts. According to The Verge, the new feature can be used to delete individual posts or in bulk, and Facebook says it will offer filtering options to help find posts with specific people in them or in a certain time range. The novel feature will be introduced to Facebook's mobile apps first. As per the social media tech company, the feature is meant "to make it easy for you to curate your presence on Facebook to more accurately reflect who you are today." However, there are a couple of different options available to remove a post from the timeline. One can send a post to the trash, where it will be removed from public viewing immediately but only permanently deleted 30 days later. The post can be manually deleted sooner. Alternatively, a post can be archived, which means it is no longer public but can still be viewed privately. 'Manage Activity' is Facebook's lat
New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on June 02 said that the COVID-19 spread in the country is far away from the peak right now. "Instead of the use of the word 'community transmission', we need to understand the extent of the spread of the disease. We are far from the peak. Our measures to curtail the disease are effective. India has been very good in the reduction in mortality," said Nivedita Gupta, a senior scientist at ICMR, in a joint press conference with Health Ministry in New Delhi.

New Delhi, Jun 02 (ANI): Manu Sharma, convict in the Jessica Lal murder case, who has spent 17 years in prison was released from jail on June 01 on grounds of "good behaviour" after Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal allowed the same on recommendation of Sentence Review Board. Sharma was released on evening of June 02 after Baijal approved his release in the morning. He was sentenced for life imprisonment in December 2006, and the decision was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2010. Jessica Lal, a model in the national capital working as celebrity barmaid was shot dead by Manu Sharma at around 2 am on 30 April, 1999 at a party.
New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has been continuously improving, according to the Health Ministry 95,527 COVID19 patients have been recovered as of June 02. "95,527 COVID19 patients have recovered, till now. The recovery rate is now 48.07 percent ," said the Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agrawal while addressing a press conference in New Delhi. "The fatality rate in our country is 2.82 percent , one of the lowest in the world," informed Health Ministry.

Pulwama (J-K), May 28 (ANI): A major incident of a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was averted by the timely input and action by Pulwama Police, CRPF and Army, informed Kashmir Zone Police. Last night, Pulwama Police got credible information that a terrorist was moving with an explosive-laden car. They took out various parties of police and security forces (SFs) and covered all possible routes keeping themselves and security forces away from road at safer location. The suspected vehicle came and a few rounds of bullets were fired towards it. Going a little further the vehicle was abandoned and the driver escaped in the darkness. On closer look, the vehicle was seen to be carrying heavy explosives in a drum on the rear seat. To avert horrific incident, In-situ explosion of the vehicle, which was carrying IED was done.

The farmers have been asked to be prepared for the locusts attack by using tin cases, tractors' sound without silencer and other traditional methods to make locusts go away.One of the farmers said, "We have seen on Facebook, the vice chancellor of Agricultural college has said that we should make sound with the help of plates, Tin cases and tractors to demolish the desert locust swarms attack" Locust is a crop eater insect that can destroy the whole farm.
Chandigarh, May 19 (ANI): Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on current COVID-19 situation in the state said the cured rate of 64%, as of May19, is the best throughout the country. "However, the fight is still on as many Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and people who are stranded in other states are returning," he added. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Punjab stands at 1964, which includes 35 deaths and 1366 recovery so far.
