Midnapur (West Bengal), May 18 (ANI): 'Pattachitra' is a pictorial folk art which comes mainly from eastern India. 'Pattachitra' involves telling stories by painting multiple panels on a cloth scroll. In the Sanskrit language, "Patta" literally means "cloth" and "Chitra" means "picture". Amphan cyclone expected to hit North Bay of Bengal on May 20: IMD Scientist

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 18 (ANI): In view of the impending cyclone Amphan, Umashankar Das, Senior Scientist of IMD Bhubaneswar said that now Amphan cyclone is moving at the speed of 12 km per hour, but when it will cross West Bay of Bengal and enters North Bay of Bengal in Odisha, Bangladesh, West Bengal coast area, it is expected that the movement of sever cyclonic storm will increase drastically. It is expected that it will hit on May 20 after noon.

DTC starts bus shuttle services for passengers arriving at New Delhi Railway Station

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has started bus shuttle services for railway passengers arriving at New Delhi Railway Station. They are dropped off at Shivaji Stadium and Ambedkar Stadium from where they are given further changeover of transport. The Centre announced the extension of nationwide lockdown on May 17. The nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 31.

Noida (UP), May 18 (ANI): Heavy traffic jam was witnessed at Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) flyway on May 18. This comes after some relieve was given in lockdown 4.0 by the Centre. Despite MHA guidelines, devotees flock to temple in Amritsar

Amritsar (Punjab), May 18 (ANI): People flocked at Mata Bhadrakali Mandir in Amritsar for 'darshan' of their deity, to mark beginning of a fair. The devotees are being allowed inside the temple wearing mask. Social distance was observed inside and outside of the temple premises. One of the priests said, "Had urged them to stay at home but they requested for 'darshan'. We are ensuring social distancing, two devotees coming at a time and going back soon". As per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines for coronavirus lockdown religious congregations are strictly prohibited.

Netflix starts to bring streaming quality back to normal

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): American media-services provider Netflix is now going back to normal streaming quality. According to Mashable, in March the streaming platform started reducing streaming quality in some markets, including Europe, India and Australia, with an idea to reduce Netflix's impact on internet speeds. As per FlatpanelsHD (via Android Central), users across Europe are once again getting 4K HDR video quality at up to 15 Mb/s of data transfer. This includes Denmark, Norway and Germany, though the outlet reports that restrictions still apply in some cases. However, over the last week, Denmark and Norway have seen broadband speeds improve, according to Speedtest, while Germany's speeds declined. Vande Bharat Mission: 127 Indian nationals arrived from Bahrain, quarantined at School for Naval Airmen in Kochi

Kochi (Kerala), May 18 (ANI): The 127 Indian nationals who arrived at Cochin International Airport, from Bahrain by a special Gulf Air flight have been quarantined at a School for Naval Airmen (SFNA). The deportees were brought from airport by special KSRTC buses under the aegis of district administration and handed over to naval authorities at naval base, Kochi. As per the directives of Government of India, the deportees were to be initially quarantined in a Military base - at Kochi Naval Base, where they would be regularly monitored by trained naval health professionals. After the mandatory 14 days quarantine period, the deportees would be handed over to care of state agencies for their further transfer to their home stations. The Navy's quarantine facility at Kochi with a 200 bed capacity was set up on March 20 and has been serving as a transit quarantine camp for naval personnel returning to Kochi for duty after leave. Migrant workers gather at Delhi-UP border to reach their homes amid COVID-19 lockdown

Delhi-UP Border, May 18 (ANI): Migrant workers including women and children gathered at Delhi-UP border in large numbers. Their aim was to reach their native places amid COVID-19 lockdown. They were seen wearing masks as precautionary measure during coronavirus pandemic. Police were deployed in the area to keep a check on situation.
