COVID-19 recovery rate in India improves to 23.3 percent : Lav Agarwal

New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Health ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal informed that with 1543 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total COVID-19 positive cases in the country are now 29,435. He said that 684 patients have been cured in last 24 hours. "Our recovery rate is now 23.3 percent . This is a progressive increase in recovery rate," he added. Lav Agarwal further informed that 17 districts have not reported any case in the last 28 days, where COVID-19 cases were found previously.

CM Yogi instructs to sanitize each house of hotspot areas amid coronavirus outbreak: UP Home Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 28 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 28, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi informed that each house of hotspot areas will be sanitized amid coronavirus outbreak. He said, "Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter, Yogi Adityanath has instructed that each house of hotspot areas will be sanitized. CM also instructed to send senior officers to Varanasi, Rampur and Hapur. Women self-help groups are asked to give the task of making masks to empower them. CM has instructed that arrangements for quarantine centers and shelter sites to be ensured in each district."

All students going to their native places will have a proper health check-up: UP Home Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 28 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 28, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi informed that more than 50 buses have left for the students to send to their native places as of now. He said, "CM had directed to send students from Prayagraj to their native places, yesterday. Buses have started to send these students. 300 buses have been arranged and as of now, more than 50 buses have left with the students. It is an ongoing process. All the students will have their health check-ups done by the government as it is the need of the hour."

UP Police takes care of stray animals amid COVID-19 lockdown

Lucknow (UP), Apr 28(ANI): Amid corona outbreak and nationwide lockdown, Uttar Pradesh Police is not only taking care of people but also taking care of stray animals. They provide them with food including bananas and 'grams' on daily basis. Lucknow Central, ADCP, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that we all have a role to play in the biosphere. He said, "Apart from being police officers we are human too and therefore we think we should do something for these animals too." He further said that this gives them satisfaction and therefore they feed the stray animals on daily basis.

The mosque located inside Azam Campus educational institute turned into a quarantine facility for persons likely infected with COVID-19. 8590 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Maharashtra so far.

1 Lakh a day tests target by May 31, RT-PCR and antibody test kits to be produced in India: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday said that we will able to produce RT-PCR and antibody test kits in India by May. The processes will start after getting approval from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), he further said. "We will be able to produce RT-PCR and antibody test kits in India by May. All processes are in advanced stage and production will start after getting approval from ICMR. It will help us in meeting our target of 1 lakh tests per day by May 31," he said.

COVID-19 lockdown: Chhattisgarh students return from Kota

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 28 held a meeting with autonomous Institutes and PSUs under Department of Biotechnology via video conference. During the interaction, he informed them about the current situation of the country in regards to COVID-19 virus. "For the last 14 days, our doubling rate is 8.7, while for the last 7 days, it is 10.2 days. In last 3 days, it is 10.9 days roughly." No COVID-19 case reported in 80 districts in last 7 days: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 28 held a meeting with Autonomous Institutes under Department of Biotechnology via video conference. During the interaction, he said, "No fresh case has been reported in 80 districts since last 7 days. In 47 districts, no case has been reported in the last 14 days, while 39 districts have not reported a case since the last 21 days. Seventeen districts have not reported a case for last 28 days."

Electric appliances shops reopen in Delhi following govt's guidelines

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Electric appliances shops has started opening in Delhi on April 28, after the state government allowed to operate. The Delhi Government on April 27 allowed plumbers and electricians to operate after a complete review of COVID-19 situation in national capital. However, the shop owners have to follow the norms by maintaining social distancing and other safety measures. "We are happy with the governments order. We are following government's norms by maintaining social distancing," a shopkeeper said. Meanwhile, total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 3108, which includes 54 deaths so far.

COVID-19: IMA welcomes ICMR's guidelines of home isolation for patients with mild symptoms

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Indian Medical Association Hospital Board Joint Secretary Anil Goyal on April 28 welcomed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines for home isolation of very mild and pre-symptomatic COVID-19 cases. Doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days: Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain, on Tuesday said the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in national capital stands at 3108 and death toll stands at 54 till now. Adding in it, he said the doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days. He said, "The total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 3108 now, of which 190 cases were reported yesterday. 877 patients have been cured, while 11 are on ventilator. Death toll stands at 54. The doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days."
