COVID-19 lockdown: Swiss nationals stranded in Kerala airlifted

Kochi (Kerala), Apr 26(ANI): 164 Swiss nationals, who were stranded in Kerala due to COVID-19 lockdown, were airlifted from Cochin International Airport by Swiss Airways on April 25. The flight took off from Cochin International Airport at 11:10 pm to Zurich. Medical team screened the passengers at Cochin airport. Baggages of the passengers were disinfected while they were leaving the airport.

Watch: Delhi residents distribute food to the needy

Lockdown 2.0: Local shops resume services in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 26(ANI): Local shops in Bhimjipura resumed services on April 26 amid nationwide lockdown. The Vijay Rupani-led Gujarat government had announced certain relaxations for services outside containment zones. All shops except those located in malls, shopping complexes and containment zones, are allowed to open.

Kanpur (UP), Apr 26(ANI): Kanpur's Kuli Bazar area has been declared as COVID-19 'Red Zone.' Movement of people in the area has been restricted with exemptions for essential services. Sector Magistrate of Kanpur, Inderjeet Verma said, 'All entry/exit points are being monitored with the help of CCTV cameras, only essential service providers are allowed to move in and out.'

Ghats look deserted on occasion of 'Akshaya Tritiya' amid lockdown

Prayagraj/Varanasi, Apr 26(ANI): Very few devotees took holy dip in Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj and river Ganga in Varanasi on the occasion of 'Akshaya Tritiya' amid nationwide lockdown to prevent COVID-19 transmission. "People are locked in their houses and if they get out they will catch the disease. There is no crowd at sangam, hardly one-two people," said the Priest at Sangam Ghat. Akshaya Tritiya is an annual spring time festival of the Hindus and Jains.

COVID-19: Automated trolley deployed in Bengaluru hospital to mitigate infection risks

Bengaluru, Apr 26 (ANI): Bengaluru's Victoria Hospital has deployed a remote controlled medicine trolley in COVID wards. Trolley has been modified to suit requirements of healthcare workers. Odisha coin collector to auction 2 lakh old coins for COVID-19 relief

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Apr 25 (ANI): International coin collector, Debi Prasad Mangaraj, has decided to auction his collection of 2 lakhs old coins for COVID-19 pandemic fund. Mangaraj claimed the value of the coins to be around Rs 250 crore. "I will donate the auction money to Chief Minister and Prime Minister relief fund," said the coin collector Debi Prasad Mangaraj to ANI.

Terror hideout busted in J and K's Doda, cache of arms recovered

Doda (J and K), Apr 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Army personnel on April 24 busted a hideout of terrorists in Gundna forest area of Doda district. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered. The recovered arms and ammunitions include AK 47 rifles, 2 magazines, Chinese pistol, 3 grenades and bullets. Further investigation in the case is underway.

COVID-19: S Korea company increases production of rapid testing kits at Manesar plant

Manesar (Haryana), Apr 25 (ANI): After high demand, a South Korea's healthcare company, SD Biosensor's has increased manufacturing for rapid antibody test kits for COVID-19 at its Manesar plant. "We have received orders for rapid antibody test kits from Chhattisgarh and Haryana government. Other products are also under evaluation by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)," said Manesar's Plant Head of SD Biosensor, Anshul Saraswat.

Security forces launch search operation in J and K's Udhampur

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 25 (ANI): The Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police cordoned the Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur area after suspected movement. However, one hour later the operation was called off. "Based on the general information, a cordon and search operation was launched in Udhampur. It was just a normal cordon and search operation. The operation has now been called off," said Udhampur's SSP Rajiv Pandey.

Cannabis of foreign origin worth Rs 9 lakh seized from sleeping bags in Chennai
