Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 17 (ANI): Army Chief General MM Naravane reacted over the continued violation of ceasefire by Pakistan. The Army Chief said that while whole world is fighting the coronavirus pandemic, on the other hand Pakistan is only exporting terror. "While we are busy not only helping our own citizens but the rest of the world by sending medical teams and exporting medicines, on the other hand, Pakistan is only exporting terror. This doesn't auger well," said Army Chief General MM Naravane to ANI in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara.
Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 17 (ANI): Army Chief General MM Naravane on April 17 revealed that the armed forces have just 8 positive cases of coronavirus so far. While talking to ANI, Army Chief General MM Naravane said, "So far, we have only 8 positive cases in the entire Indian Army, of which 2 are doctors and 1 nursing assistant, 4 are responding well to treatment and we had one case in Ladakh, now he is fully cured and has joined duty." "Our personnel who have not come in contact with any infected person are being moved back to units, we have already catered for two special trains, from Bengaluru to Jammu and other from Bengaluru to Guwahati," the Army Chief further said.
Shopian (JandK), Apr 17 (ANI): Two terrorists have been neutralised during an encounter with troops in Dairoo village of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian District on April 17. Identity of the terrorists is yet to be ascertained. Area has been cordon-off and search operation by Central Reserve Police Force along with 44 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group (SOG) is underway.

New Delhi, Apr 17 (ANI): Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, on April 17 emphasised that private schools in the national capital cannot hike fees amid the coronavirus lockdown. "It has come to my notice that many schools are taking fees arbitrarily and charging transportation fees even when schools are closed. Private schools should not stoop to this level. Be it private or government schools, they cannot hike fees," said Sisodia who handles the Education Ministry of Delhi government.

Mumbai, Apr 17 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced special refinance facilities of Rs 50,000 crore to National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Small Industries Development Bank of India, and National Housing Bank on April 17. "It has been decided to provide special refinance facilities for an amount of Rs 50,000 crores to National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Small Industries Development Bank of India, and National Housing Bank to enable them to meet sectoral credit needs," said RBI Governor.
New Delhi, Apr 17 (ANI): Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed that no case has been reported in past 15 days from 3 locations including Dilshad Garden. "Total 1640 COVID-19 cases reported in Delhi till today, of which 62 positive cases were reported yesterday. 38 persons have expired till date, 34 are in ICU and 6 are on ventilator. No case has been reported in last 15 days from 3 locations in the national capital, including Dilshad Garden. 60 containment zones identified till now," said Satyendar Jain on 'Operation Shield' that is being conducted in areas from where #COVID19 cases are reported.
Mumbai, Apr 17 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das announced that Reverse Repo rate cut by 25 basis points to 3.75%. "It has been decided to reduce the fixed reverse repo rate under liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points from 4% to 3.75%, with immediate effect: RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das," said Das amid COVID-19 lockdown effect.

Reports of another imminent stimulus package from the government lifted market sentiment. Das is expected to make announcements concerning additional measures to help the economy in the face of COVID-19 crisis. At 10 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was up by 887 points or 2.9 per cent at 31,489 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 271 points or 3 per cent at 9,263. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive terrain with Nifty realty, financial service and private bank up by 4.5 per cent each, IT by 3.6 per cent and auto by 2.9 per cent. Among stocks, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) rose nearly 7 percent after the IT major reported a consolidated profit of Rs 8,049 crore, down 0.85 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis.

Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 17 (ANI): Tea growers in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra are worried about their business amid coronavirus lockdown. A Tea Company's Manager, Aman Singh said, "As movement of trucks is yet to begin all our products are here. If we don't transport tea soon will have to face at least 40% loss of cash revenue." The tea growers are also facing shortage of labourers due to the lockdown. Most of the products are exported to European countries but initially the tea company has to send it to Kolkata for auction and that too in April. Tea companies are waiting for April 20, as central government gave some relief to agriculture sector to be functional from the date.
