COVID-19: UP to soon have indigenously produced rapid testing kits, says MSME Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Principal Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Navneet Sehgal, on April 10 said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government is encouraging two major companies in the state - one in Lucknow and other in Noida - which have developed rapid testing kits for coronavirus. Sehgal added that both the companies will send their samples to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and once approved, UP will have indigenous and economical rapid testing kits for COVID-19.

COVID-19: Drone cameras help authorities in monitoring affected zones

Dehradun (Uttarakhand)/ Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 11 (ANI): Indian authorities are taking the help of drone cameras to monitor coronavirus affected areas in respective states to restrict the spread of COVID-19. The Gujarat Police deployed drones in Jangleshwar area of Rajkot where seven cases of coroanvirus so far. The deployment of drones helps the authorities in implementing cluster containment exercise. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Police also monitored the situation in Dehradun with the help of drone cameras. Gujarat has reported over 250 confirmed cases of coronavirus while Uttarakhand has seen 40 infections so far.

COVID-19 outbreak: Decontamination, sanitization tunnel set-up in J-K's Pulwama

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 10 (ANI): Amid growing cases of coronavirus, Municipal Committee Pulwama set-up decontamination and sanitization tunnel at the entry of the isolation facility at the district hospital. The aim of setting up of tunnel is to sanitize the employees and to prevent the spread of the virus. Locals were also seen observing social distancing at the hospital. Over 65 unidentified booked for obstructing cremation of COVID-19 patient in Punjab

Jalandhar (Punjab), Apr 10 (ANI): Punjab Police have registered case against over 65 unidentified people for obstructing cremation of a COVID-19 patient in Jalandhar's Harnam Daspura. According to the police, the locals created ruckus saying that they might get infected if the patient would be cremated in their locality. Around 8 people lost their lives due to deadly coronavirus in Punjab. Total number of 101 positive cases of coronavirus has been reported so far in the state.

COVID-19: Inmates of jails stitched 50 PPE sets, informs UP Police

Lucknow (UP), Apr 10 (ANI): Inmates of jails in Uttar Pradesh have stitched 50 PPE sets amid coronavirus outbreak. While talking about it, Anand Kumar, Director General of Police (Prison) said, "These PPE kits were made as per specifications that have been handed over to Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. 100 more such sets are in the pipeline. One PPE set costs Rs 600".

Amritsar (Punjab), Apr 10 (ANI): Amid coronavirus outbreak, a police station in Amritsar was sanitized on April 10. COVID-19: 20-yr-old invents 'face shields' at home using 3D printing

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): As the coronavirus crisis grips the nation, the safety and security of the 'corona-warriors' at the frontline is of adequate importance. While the shortage of PPEs is in the light, a youth from the national capital understood the need of the hour and developed a protective gear at his home. 20-year -old Udit Kakar is manufacturing face shields at his home through 3D printers. Speaking to ANI, Kakar said, "I am currently manufacturing face shields at home and I got this idea two weeks back as my mother required these face shields in the hospital as there was some shortage. I got design filed online through some sources as designers in various countries have started taking this initiative. I started printing these in Delhi currently and I wanted to make these available to as many doctors as possible." These face shields are used to protect the health workers from direct splatter from cough and sneezes.

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid growing cases of coronavirus in the national capital, Delhi administration began sanitization drive in several parts of the city. The areas were sanitizied through drones. The step has been taken to combat the spread of virus. Sanitization drive through drone would help in maintaining subtle distance between workers and locals. ITBP prepare PPE kits for health, admin workers in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Due to the shortage of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE), Indo-Tibetan Border Police is preparing PPE kits at its SS Battalion Centre in New Delhi's Saboli. PPEs will be made available to second line health and administration workers at quarantine centre and Unit Hospital. PPE is priced at Rs 100 and triple layered mask at less than Rs 2. Meanwhile, in last 48 hours, about 1487 COVID-19 cases reported across the country according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Karnataka ASHA workers allegedly misbehaved by people for conducting health survey over COVID-19

Hubli (Karnataka), Apr 10 (ANI): Three Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers in Hubli, have alleged that few people snatched their documents during a health survey over COVID-19 in Gavaligalli area. 65-yr-old local doctor died due to COVID-19: CMHO Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Chief Medical and Health Officer of Indore, Dr Praveen Jadiya informed that a 65-year-old local doctor has died due to COVID-19 in the city. He said, "A 65-year-old local doctor has died due to COVID-19 in Indore. He might get infected after coming to contact with some positive patients. Three more men have tested positive posthumously, taking total number of deaths to 27 and cases to 235."

On basis of samples collected, infection rate is not high: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agrawal said that on the basis of the samples collected, the infection rate is not high. "Yesterday, we conducted 16,002 tests, only 2 percent cases tested positive out of these tests. On the basis of the samples collected the infection rate is not high," said Lav Agrawal, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, while addressing the routine health bulletin in the wake of pandemic coronavirus.

UP will test more people once ICMR will approve labs: Principal Health Secretary

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Principal Health Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Mohan Prasad told that state will test more people once ICMR will approve the labs. He said, "A total of 40 districts are affected with COVID-19. Some more labs will be approved by ICMR for COVID-19 testing. These will soon start functioning. These labs will help us to test more people at once. We have been testing over 1,000 samples per day for the past two days which will be increased to 1,500 testing per day in Uttar Pradesh."

No movement allowed at Indo-Pak, Indo-Bangladesh borders: MHA

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): In a press conference held in Delhi on April 10, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Punya Salila Srivastava told that security is tightened at the borders and no cross-border movement will be allowed. She said, "In view of the ensuing festivals in the month of April 2020, MHA has directed all States/UTs to ensure strict compliance of lockdown measures to fight COVID19." She further said, "Home Minister has held a review meeting over security at Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders with the border security officials. He ordered to tighten security especially in the areas where there is no fencing and not to allow any cross-border movement."
