Coronavirus lockdown: Punjab Police intensifies surveillance using drone

Chandigarh, Apr 04 (ANI): In wake of coronavirus, Central Government had imposed a nationwide curfew. To intensify surveillance against curfew violators, Punjab Police deployed drones. Through drones, police is aiming to cover ten districts in two days. A total of 2322 active cases of coronavirus are reported in India as of now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced to observe nationwide lockdown till April 14.

Breastfeeding can lower the risk of ovarian cancer

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): An international study involving researchers from QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute has found women who breastfeed their babies may lower their risk of developing cancer by almost 25%. The research also shows the longer a woman breastfeeds, the greater the reduction in risk. Even those who breastfed their children for three months or less had about an 18% lower risk of developing cancer. Mothers who breastfed their children for more than 12 months each had a 34% lower risk. Only about 45 per cent women diagnosed with ovarian cancer survive at least five years after their diagnosis.

Kerala's aged couple recovers from COVID-19

Kottayam (Kerala), Apr 04 (ANI): Aged couple who were under treatment of coronavirus at Kottayam medical college hospital recovered. 93-year-old Thomas and 88-year-old wife Mariyamma are now in good health. The couple got infected after coming in contact with relative who came from Italy. Their recovery comes as a morale booster for the country.

COVID-19: Sleeper coaches turned into isolation wards in Patna

Patna (Bihar), Apr 04 (ANI): To combat coronavirus, authorities are rapidly converting sleeper coaches into isolation wards at Rajendra Nagar Terminal. The coaches were well-sanitised during finals stages. Indian Railways aims to modify 20,000 coaches for emergency. A single modified coach houses 16 beds for isolation. 29 cases have been reported so far in the state of Bihar.

Out of 107 Tablighi Jamaat attendees, 28 tested negative of COVID-19: Chhattisgarh CM

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 03 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on April 3 informed that 107 people returned to Chhattisgarh after attending Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi and samples of over 50 of them were sent for testing out of which, reports of 28 people have been received and all of them have been tested negative of COVID-19. 11 CISF personnel tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra

New Delhi, Apr 03(ANI): Home Ministry, Joint Secretary, Punya Salila Srivastava announced helpline numbers for coronavirus pandemic. She said, "Now, we have introduced two more helpline numbers - 1930 which is all India tollfree number and1944 is dedicated to Northeast. Apart from this, on the stone pelting incidents, Punya said that Union Ministry of Home Affairs has written to state governments to take strict action in cases of attack on healthcare and frontline workers. She said that state governments have been directed to ensure the security to medical fraternity.
