New Delhi, March 09 (ANI): Special cell of Delhi Police arrested a couple with alleged links to Khorasan module of the Islamic State (IS) from Jamia Nagar area of national capital. They have been identified as Jahanjeb Sami and his wife was identified as Hina Bashir Beg. The couple had been under surveillance for the past several months. The police alleged that the couple were planning to carry out suicide attacks in national capital. A case has been registered against them and further interrogation is underway.
Agra/Kanpur/ (Uttar Pradesh), Indore (MP), Mar 09 (ANI): People expressed some relief as petrol and diesel prices continued to dwindle on March 9. However, some people said that this little drop out will not going to help them anyway. The petrol price was cut by 24 paise a litre today (March 09) while diesel price dropped by 25 paise, after crude oil prices plunged by over 30%.
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 09 (ANI): Kashmir Inspector General of police, Vijay Kumar commented on the Shopian encounter in which two terrorists were neutralised by security forces. "Two militants were killed in an encounter in Shopian. Their bodies have been recovered and identification process is underway," said Kumar.

New Delhi, Mar 09 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices continued to bleed red on March 09 following a slide in global peers as fears intensified over the spread of coronavirus outbreak and oil prices plunged. Oil fell by the most since 1991 after Saudi Arabia started a price war with Russia by slashing its selling prices amid falling demand because of the virus outbreak. At the closing bell, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 1,942 points or 5.17 per cent to 35,635 while the Nifty 50 plunged by 538 points or 4.9 per cent at 10,451. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty metal down by 7.7 per cent, PSU bank by 6 per cent, IT by 5 per cent and realty by 4.2 per cent. Among stocks, ONGC drifted lower by almost 16 per cent to Rs 74.35 per share while metal and mining major Vedanta fell by over 15 per cent to Rs 94.10.
Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Mar 09 (ANI): To make women more empowered, an 'All Women Post Office' was opened in Kalaburagi on March 09. The post office was inaugurated by the women staff. The aim behind this post office is to encourage more women to work. The women post office was inaugurated a day after 'International Women's Day'. While speaking to ANI, a woman staff said, "We are very happy that we can work freely. Government should also take these steps in some other departments."

Oil fell by the most since 1991 after Saudi Arabia started a price war with Russia by slashing its selling prices amid falling demand because of the virus outbreak. At 1:15 pm, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 2,345 points or 6.24 per cent to 35,231 while the Nifty 50 plunged by 632 points or 5.75 per cent at 10,357. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty metal down by 6.7 per cent, IT by 4.8 per cent, PSU bank by 4.6 per cent, and realty by 4.1 per cent.
New Delhi, Mar 09 (ANI): Congress hit out at the central government over the downfall of stock market. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said that people are losing their money and jobs because of the poor economic policies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government. "Today Indian stock market and economy is hit by the biggest crash in the history. The stock market cut down by 2419 points, and investors faced loss of over Rs 6 lakh crore. And Finance Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are not uttering a word on this matter." The Indian stock market marked one of the biggest crashes in Sensex history on March 09 after it dived 1942 points at the closing bell.
Mirthi (Uttarakhand), Mar 09 (ANI): Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel at ITBP Camp-Mirthi, Uttarakhand dressed in 'bear' costumes to scare away monkeys on the premises. Chennai, Mar 09 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh informed that one asymptomatic patient was tested positive for coronavirus and is in stable condition."Today, CM conducted a detailed review meeting with all concerned departments. 1 patient has tested positive for coronavirus. For last 24hrs, the patient is asymptomatic, and is stable. We have 330 isolation wards, we will be sprucing up all facilities soon," informed Rajesh on coronavirus case in the state.
Fulbari (West Bengal), Mar 09 (ANI): State Government health officials have set up a temporary medical camp at Fulbari Integrated Check Post (ICP). The medical camp has been set to scan those entering India from Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Positive cases in India have reached 40. The country is continuously putting efforts to restrict spread of deadly disease.

Darbhanga (Bihar), Mar 09 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) leader Vinod Choudhary's daughter announced political party to contest election for Bihar Assembly. Pushpam Priya Choudhary declared herself as a chief minister candidate ahead of Bihar election 2020. On women's day she declared the formation of political party named 'Plurals'. Speaking on this, her father Vinod Choudhary said that it is her decision as she is an adult and educated. "She is adult and educated, this is her decision. Party will of course not support it if she is challenging top leader of the party," said Choudhary.
Shopian (J-K), Mar 09 (ANI): Two terrorists were killed in the encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on March 09. The encounter took place in Khajpura Reban area of Shopian district. Operation is underway, more details are awaited.
New Delhi, Mar 09 (ANI): Congress' committee on Delhi violence will submit report today (March 09). The committee was set up by Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi. The violence broke out on February 23 continued for three days, between a group of supporters of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and who were against it. Violence turned into a riot in areas of North East Delhi. The violence incidents took place in several North- East Delhi areas. Over 50 people lost their lives in the deadly violence.

On being asked about his prospects of becoming a Minister, the Independent MLA replied, "Will get it very soon, and may be the day after Holi. Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Mar 09 (ANI): Hundreds of women gathered in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram to celebrate Pongala Mahotsavam. Devotees cooked rice in small vessels and lined up to offer food to 'Attukal Devi'. It is believed that the deity fulfills wishes of every devotee.
