Hubli (Karnataka), Jan 18 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 18 said that those who are opposing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are anti-Dalits. "I want to ask those opposing Citizenship Amendment Act, what will you gain by going against Dalits who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan? Those who are opposing CAA are anti-Dalits," said Amit Shah while addressing a public gathering in Karnataka's Hubli.
Navi Mumbai, Jan 18 (ANI): Actor Shabana Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar's car was hit by a truck on January 18 while they were travelling from Pune to Mumbai. Shabana Azmi and her driver got injured in the accident. The accident took place near Kahalpur on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Javed Akhtar was also present in the car, but he is safe. Injured shifted to MGM Hospital.
Jammu, Jan 18 (ANI): While speaking on abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Jitendra Singh, said, "We had to wait for so long may be god also wanted that a great man someone like Prime Minister Narendra Modi will came to earth and will do this holy job." Hyderabad, Jan 18 (ANI): Manjari Chaturvedi, a noted Kathak dancer, alleged that on January 15, she was forced to stop her performance midway at an event organised by the Uttar Pradesh government in Lucknow because she was performing on a 'Qawwali'. Chaturvedi, however, said she has been invited again by the UP government to perform at an event on January 27.

Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 18 (ANI): A toilet which was constructed under 'Swachh Bharat Mission' is being used as a kitchen in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district. Toilet is being used as kitchen by a family living in Akan Pur village of Barabanki. They don't have proper accommodation or living arrangements so they are using toilet as kitchen since past one year. Speaking to ANI, one of the family members Ram Prakash said, "We don't have proper accommodation so we are using this toilet as a kitchen since one year." On the other side, speaking to ANI, the District Magistrate (DM) of Barabanki Dr Adarsh Singh said, "We have not received any such request for house. We will investigate the matter and try to provide a proper accommodation." "If there is negligence by the gram panchayat and pradhan then action will be taken," DM added. Akan Pur is a Village located in Harakh Tehsil of Barabanki district.
Bengaluru, Jan 18 (ANI): A Delhi court issued fresh death warrants on January 17 against the four convicts in Nirbhaya case and set a new date for their hanging. They will be hanged on February 01, 2020 at 6:00 am. While speaking to ANI in Bengaluru on January 18, the Chief of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma spoke on Nirbhaya case. She said, "I hope this will be the final date because now three convicts are left who will be going for the final plea to the President." "I don't know if it will be final because when will they go to the President for giving application and when is there last date we have to see," she added. "I am only hoping but not sure that this will be last date," NCW Chairperson further stated.
