ISRO'S PSLV C-47 carrying Cartosat-3 satellite is set to launch from Sriharikota

Sriharikota (AP), Nov 27 (ANI): The countdown for the launch of PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 commenced on Nov 27. The launch is scheduled at 09:28 am. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to launch PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 and 13 nano-satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre Shar at Sriharikota on Nov 27. The satellite will be placed in an orbit of 509 kms at an inclination of 97.5 degrees.

Will provide stable government to Maharashtra: Aaditya Thackeray

Mumbai, Nov 27 (ANI): After meeting Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray said that the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance will provide a stable government to the state. Earlier, 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' MLAs submitted letter to Governor Koshyari declaring Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as their leader. Increase in air pollution linked to higher glaucoma risks

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): In a recent study, it has been found that people residing in places with higher amounts of fine particulate matter pollution were 6 per cent more likely to suffer from glaucoma than those in the least polluted areas. The study was published in the journal, 'Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, 2019.' Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness and affects over 60 million people worldwide. It most commonly results from a build-up of pressure from fluid in the eye, causing damage to the optic nerve that connects the eye to the brain. Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disease.

Gujarat HC directs police to trace women missing from Nithyananda Ashram

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Nov 27 (ANI): The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday (November 26) directed the state police administration to trace the two missing women, believed to be abroad, in Nithyananda case, and produce them before court, even as the next hearing in the case has been allotted for December 10. Advocate Pritesh Shah said, "This writ will be alive till they appear in court." The habeas corpus petition was moved by a Bengaluru-based couple who claimed their daughters are being 'illegally confined' by Nithyananda's acolytes in his ashram.

On 26 November 2015, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that alcohol would be banned in the state from 1 April 2016. Kumar officially declared the total ban on 5 April 2016.

After resigning as Maharashtra Deputy CM, Ajit Pawar meets uncle Sharad Pawar

Mumbai, Nov 27 (ANI): After resigning as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar met his uncle and NCP chief Sharad Pawar at latter's residence. NCP leader Praful Patel and Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray also came along with Ajit. NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal said that the party leaders have requested Ajit Pawar to come back to home (in National Congress Party) and talk to Sharad Pawar. They both (Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar) also had talk before the joint meeting started. Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress leaders held meeting at Sharad Pawar's residence on November 27 midnight.

Transgender activist Kalki Subramanian exhibits Sridevi's portraits to pay tribute

Puducherry (Tamil Nadu), Nov 26 (ANI): Transgender activist Kalki Subramaniam painted legendary actress Sridevi's portraits which were displayed in a digital artwork exhibition held in Tamil Nadu's Puducherry. Several portraits including 'Queen with a golden rose' were displayed in the exhibition. Several visitors walked in and appreciated the artwork. "Her death was a disaster for me. I still don't believe she is no more. I wanted to pay tribute to wonderful talent so I got the idea to do her 80s and 90s image," said the artist. The legendary actress passed away in Dubai on February 24, 2018.

2 killed in grenade attack in Anantnag

Anantnag (J-K), Nov 26 (ANI): The two civilians, who got injured in a grenade blast in Anantnag, succumbed to their injuries on November 26. The dreadful blast took place at Panchayat Ghar Hakura in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. Security forces cordoned the area after the blast. Further investigation is underway.
