2nd day of laser light show dazzles Delhiites

New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): On Diwali, score of people flocked to Connaught Place to enjoy laser light show organised by Delhi Government. 'Dilli ki Diwali' program has been organised to ensure cracker free celebrations. Laser show will continue for next four days in national capital. The circles of Connaught Place and adjoining areas were decked up with lights and people from all walks of life thronged the heart of the city to witness the unique show.

Over 52 hrs on, rescue ops continue to save TN toddler who fell into borewell

Tiruchirappalli (TN), Oct 28 (ANI): Over 52 hours on, efforts are still underway to rescue a two-year-old boy who fell into a 25-feet deep borewell in Nadukattupatti of Tiruchirappalli district on October 25. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam is closely monitoring the rescue operations. A team of Madurai fire and rescue department workers has also left for the site. After several failed attempts, a new pit was dug in the tunnel near the deep well. According to officials at the site, the ONGC's rig machine was called for this but it got damaged due to presence of rocks. Later, a second high-speed engine was brought for drilling in order to rescue the toddler from Ramanathapuram. Health Minister C Vijayabaskar, Revenue Minister RB Udayakumar and Commissioner of Revenue Administration J Radhakrishnan are present at the spot, directing the authorities concerned to try their best to rescue the infant at earliest. Cobra rescued from kitchen of a house in Odisha

Mayurbhanj (Odisha), Oct 28 (ANI): A cobra was rescued from the residence of a family in Mayurbhanj district's Baripada on October 27. Snake was spotted by the member of the house in the kitchen following which they informed the snake helpline in the district for rescue. The snake rescue team rushed to the house and rescued the reptile. The snake was later released into the wild.

Islam doesn't believe in concept of 2 children, govt is not giving jobs anyway: AIUDF chief

Guwahati (Assam), Oct 27 (ANI): Responding to Assam Government's decision of not giving government job to people having more than two children, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal said that Islam doesn't believe in the concept of having only two children. He said, "Islam doesn't believe in the concept of having only 2 children. No one can stop the people who're bound to come to this world." He further added, "There are no restrictions among us. Govt is not giving us jobs anyway and we even don't expect jobs. I would say my people to give birth to as many children as they can and educate them. So they can develop job opportunities and provide jobs to even Hindus."

'Hindutva' will not be safe without population control law: BJP's Surendra Singh

Ballia (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Ballia, Surendra Singh reacted sharply to All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal's statement that 'Muslims will continue to produce children'. Surendra Singh said, "If population control law is not made in India then in next 50 years, 'Hindutva' will not be safe even in India. You can see that in Jammu and Kashmir, security has to be deployed. Workers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are being killed in West Bengal and no one is taking action. Wherever BJP is not in ruling, you must have experienced Islamist terrorism and Islamic extremism."

1600-kg bull center of attraction at Buffalo festival in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 27 (ANI): A Haryana-based champion bull 'Sartaj' has become the center of attraction of buffalo carnival titled 'Sadar' in Hyderabad. The total weight of the champion bull is 15-16 quintal. He is seven feet tall and 15 feet wide in size. By now 'Sartaj' has won several prizes and last year in the same competition, he had won Rs 1,25,000. He has won awards and prizes around 25 times. Last year 'Yuvraj', 'Shehanshah' and 'Dara' also participated in this festival. The festival is taking place in Narayanguda area of Hyderabad.

Very severe cyclone 'Kyarr' intensifies into super cyclone, minimal impact on Goa: IMD

Panaji (Goa), Oct 27 (ANI): Rahul M, Scientist from India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa said that very severe cyclone Kyarr has intensified into super cyclone but its impact on Goa would be minimal. Rahul said, "Very severe cyclone Kyarr has further intensified into super cyclone. Now it is over east central Arabian Sea, approx 650 km away from Goa. Even though the system is very severe over east central Arabian Sea, it is going to have very minimal impact on Goa." He further added, "As on today there are no heavy rainfall warnings for coming 5 days. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for 24 more hours. After 24 hours they should not venture into east central Arabian Sea where this system is persisting."
