Army Chief lays wreath at National War Memorial on Infantry Day

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat laid wreath at the National War Memorial on Infantry Day in Delhi on October 27. BSF personnel celebrate Diwali in Poonch

Poonch (J-K), Oct 27 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) personnel of 72nd Battalion lit earthen lamps on the eve of Diwali in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. The BSF soldiers danced with their fellow soldiers. They also offered sweets and exchanged greetings with each other. Watch: RPF personnel saves passenger who slipped from moving train

Coimbatore (TN), Oct 27 (ANI): Another example of Railway Protect Force (RPF) personnel's alertness was seen at Coimbatore railway station. An alert RPF personnel saved a person, who slipped while attempting to board a moving train in the railway station. CCTV footage shows man entered into moving train lost his balance and slipped. An on duty RPF personnel, who was just five feet away from the train swung into action and pushed the passenger inside the coach. If a RPF personnel wasn't there, the man would have fallen down through the gap of train and platform.

Watch: RPF jawan saves woman from getting crushed by train in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 27 (ANI): A woman was rescued from getting crushed by a train at Dadar railway station by a jawan of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff. As per CCTV footage, the woman intended to alight a moving train but he fell in the process and before she would have fallen into the gap between the platform and the train, a RPF Jawan Kumar held the woman and pushed her back.

Study reveals potatoes boost athletic's performance

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): A new research reveals that consuming potato puree instead of commercial carbohydrate gel gives the same result to athletes for sustaining blood glucose levels during long workout sessions. Nicholas Burd, professor of kinesiology and community health at the University of Illinois, US, said: "Our study's aim was to expand and diversify race-fuelling options for athletes and offset flavour fatigue." The scientists recruited 12 participants, who were healthy and devoted to their sport, averaging 165 miles (267 kilometres) per week on their bicycles. All had been training for years. To qualify for the trials, the cyclists had to reach a specific threshold for aerobic fitness and complete a 120-minute cycling challenge followed by a time trial. Microsoft Windows 10X leaks reveal support for laptops

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Details about Microsoft's next-in-line Windows 10X have accidentally leaked an official internal design document, highlighting it will be available on foldable, dual-screen devices, as well as traditional clamshell laptops. As The Verge notes, the upcoming version will feature the Start Menu renamed as the Launcher which will focus on local search, integrated with web results, available apps, and specific files on the device. It will further have a faster Windows Hello facial recognition, a Modern File Explorer, a simplified Action Center and quick settings, and more. Efforts underway to rescue two-year-old who fell in 25-foot deep borewell

Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Oct 26 (ANI): Two-year-old boy identified as Sujith Wilson fell into 25-foot deep borewell in Nadukattupatti of Tiruchirappalli district in Tamil Nadu. Rescue teams from NDRF and SDRF are putting their efforts to bring the boy out. Sujith is stuck in narrow borewell since yesterday. He fell while he was playing near his house.

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Kumari Selja said that people in Haryana never wanted Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) to forge alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. Indo-Japan joint military exercise 'Dharma Guardian 2019' underway in Silchar

Silchar (Assam), Oct 26 (ANI): The second edition of bilateral military exercise, 'Dharma Guardian 2019' is underway between Indian and Japanese Armies. Indian contingent is represented by a battalion of the Dogra Regiment whereas the Japanese contingent is represented by 34th Infantry Regiment, 1st Div of Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces (JGSDF).
