New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju honoured silver medalist Manju Rani with a cash prize of Rs 14 lakh in the national capital on October 19. Meanwhile, the three bronze medalists MC Mary Kom, Lovlina Borgohain and Jamuna Boro were given Rs 8 lakh each. Kiren Rijiju also felicitated Indian women's boxing team for their performance at Women's World Boxing Championships held in Ulan-Ude, Russia. India won one silver and three bronze medals in the tournament. While speaking to media, Rijiju said, "This Women's World Boxing Championships has been the best so far. We got four medals. 4 medals is a record for India. It is a kind of revolution in the Indian boxing history. It has inspired other arena also."

Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 19 (ANI): Despite Punjab government's ban, stubble burning continued in Punjab's Amritsar due to lack of alternatives. Over 100 cases of stubble burning have been reported so far. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that stubble burning in neighbouring states is one of the main causes of air pollution in the national capital. Meanwhile, air quality remained poor for four consecutive days in the national capital and the NCR region.
Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 19 (ANI): A terror attack took place at a jewellery store in JandK's Baramulla on October 19. Ahmedabad (Gujarat)/ Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 19 (ANI): The former leader of Hindu Mahasabha, Kamlesh Tiwari, was killed after being shot at in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on October 18. Three people were detained in connection with Kamlesh Tiwari murder case on October 19 in Gujarat's Ahmedabad by the state's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The accused were identified as Maulana Mohsin Sheikh, Faizan and Rashid Ahmed. While speaking to ANI in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur today, Kamlesh Tiwari's son Satyam Tiwari said, "We want National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the case, we do not trust anyone. My father was killed although he had security guards, how can we possibly trust the administration then?"

Quetta (Pakistan), Oct 19 (ANI): Several student organisations under the banner of Students Educational Alliance continued their protests for the fourth consecutive day over alleged harassment and blackmail of students by some officials of Balochistan University. The demonstrators, who staged their protest outside the Quetta Press Club, alleged that the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Balochistan (UoB) was responsible for the entire scandal as VC was the 'head of blackmailers and saviour of the culprits'. The protesting students marched through the campus to put pressure on the officials to take action against the culprits. With the onset of Northeast monsoon in Western Ghats, thousands of colorful butterflies have started migrating to state. Butterflies such as Bath White, Cabbage White, Clouded Yellow and many others have started migrating to Western Ghats foothill. These butterflies indulge in mud-puddling during the migration. They suck minerals from the wet land and fly away to lay eggs elsewhere. Locals claim that over 40 species of butterflies migrate to the state. Tamil Nadu has as many as 32 butterfly hotspots.
