Shahjahanpur (UP), Sep 25 (ANI): A Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing allegations of harassment leveled by a law student against former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand, on September 25 held a press conference in Shahjahanpur. Member of SIT team, IPS officer Bharti Singh, clarified SIT's stand on victim's father allegation of leaking evidence against Chinmayanand. Debunking the allegation she said that SIT has followed every legal procedures. "The allegation raised by victim's father is absolutely baseless, we have followed all the legal procedures the allegation put by him (victim's father) is wrong," said Singh.
Shahjahanpur (UP), Sep 25 (ANI): Former union minister Swami Chinmayanand sexual harassment case took another turn. The victim was allegedly accused for trying to extort money from him. She was arrested by SIT team in Shahjahanpur. Lawyer of Swami Chinmayanand, Manendra Singh spoke to ANI on the matter and said, "The court has sent the girl to 14-day judicial custody. A bail application was moved by her lawyer, which was rejected by the court as it was not maintainable. If hearing on the bail application is taken up again, it'll be done at 1 pm."

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 25 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met victims of triple talaq in Lucknow on September 25. All victims from across the state have been called to gather in Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The Muslim women thanked CM Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enacting a law on triple talaq. The law of triple talaq came into effect from August 01, 2019. The Supreme Court (SC) had made triple talaq unconstitutional in 2017 but earlier this year, the Centre criminalised it by passing a Bill in Parliament. Chandigarh, Sep 25 (ANI): In the wake of Dussehra festival, a Ravana effigy, 221 feet tall will be erected in Chandigarh. The effigy is being built at the cost of Rs 30 Lakh. "Our effigy will be the tallest in the world. We have been making the record from the last five years. Last year, the figurine was 210 feet tall, this time it is 11 feet taller so we are hoping to make a record again," said one of the organisers. The organizer said that the effigy weights over 70 quintals. "Ravana's sword weighs three quintals, whereas the shoes are two quintals," he added.The effigy will be unveiled on October 2 at Dhanas ground."From October 3 to 7, various cultural programmes will take place at the venue here. On the evening of October 8, it will be set on fire," said the organizer. He added that the crackers used inside the Ravana effigy are pollution-free. "They will cause 80 per cent less pollution than normal crackers.
