10 dead, 1 injured in accident in Haryana

Jind (Haryana), Sept 25(ANI): At least 10 people died and 1 other was injured in a road accident at Jind road on Tuesday night. The youths were returning to their home after participating in an Army recruitment rally when an oil tanker ran over their auto near Ramrai village about 10:30 PM. They took the auto from Jind city and met with the fateful incident after barely travelling eight kilometres on Jind Hansi road. "Two of three people have been identified. We have found documents from their bags and intimated their family members to verify their identity," a police official said. The deceased include five from a single village. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

Google to launch Pixelbook Go with 4K display: Report

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): In addition to its Pixel 4 lineup, Google is also expected to introduce its new laptop series and if the latest reports are anything to go by, the Pixelbook Go may make its debut at the October 15 event. According to Cnet, the Pixelbook Go is likely to feature a 13.3-inch, 16:9 screen, and come in 1080p and 4K models. The 4K model will be high-end and will come with the 'Molecular Display' branding as seen on the Google Pixel Slate tablet. Configurations are likely to include Intel Core m3, i5 or i7 processors, up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Leopard skin seized, six arrested in Odisha's Deogarh

Deogarh (Odisha), Sep 25 (ANI): Odisha's forest department officials on Tuesday arrested six persons from Chatibaraghata village here for allegedly possessing leopard skin worth Rs 2 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the department raided a village and seized the animal skin. The accused have been identified as Satyaranian, Bimbadhar, Rajesh, Debendra Ranachuria of Tileibani block and Sanatan Luhura of Barkote block of the district. According to the officials, the accused were planning to sell off the skin. Raids were conducted at several other places in the area to ascertain the involvement of others in the offence. "The investigation is underway to arrest others who are involved in the skin trade," an official, Debgarh Kshma Sarangi told ANI.

Minor girl allegedly gang-raped in UP's Kaushambi

Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 24 (ANI): A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district on September 22. The victim was collecting fodder at a neighbouring village for her livestock when the three men attacked her. People protested in large numbers outside the police station in Kaushambi on September 23. While speaking to ANI, a police official said, "One accused has been arrested and search is on for others. The girl has been sent to a hospital for medical check-up." "Investigation is underway in the case," he added. Later, one of the accused in the case was cornered by villagers at a paddy field and beaten up.

South Asia Democratic Forum supports revocation of Article 370

Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 24 (ANI): South Asia Democratic Forum Executive Director Paulo Casaca on September 24 shared his views on revocation of Article 370 by BJP-led government. He said the way Indian government is handling the Jammu and Kashmir is necessary. "Jammu and Kashmir needs a bigger involvement of central authorities of India if it wants to stop the Jihadi stretch that unfortunately unfolding in the territory," said Casaca. Supporting Indian government's move on Kashmir, he said India can't rely on defence mechanism. "India can't only rely on defence mechanism it must go on the education, it must go on word of ideas of showing how detrimental to humanity is this jihadist ideology and it is necessary to do something like was done," added Casaca. He also highlighted that this just the beginning of the process.

He said, "Imagining Afghanistan without India and India without Afghanistan is impossible. The relationship has always been cherished and it goes deep, from cultural relationship to trade relationship and from people to people connect." He further added, "We've got many trade relationships with India. The biggest one I can name is the free air corridor. We export fresh food, saffron, carpets and many other things to India. Tremors felt in north India with epicentre around Pakistan-India border

Mirpur (Pakistan), New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): Tremors were felt in several states of north India today. Several people were injured and there were casualties reported in parts of Pakistan. Mirpur in Pakistan was jolted by 5.8 magnitude earthquake. Director (operations) of National Centre for Seismology, J L Gautam spoke on the tremor felt in several part of northern India. JL Gautam said, "The epicentre of the earthquake was around Pakistan-India (JandK) border. It measured 6.3 on the Richter Scale. We felt it in Delhi too. Tremors were felt in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir too."

'Bhojan Bank', unique initiative by Kanpur locals to provide free meal to destitute

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 24 (ANI): In India around 200 million people are undernourished who comprise of almost 15 per cent of country's total population. To combat this issue on a small but significant level, a unique initiative 'Bhojan Bank' has started in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. 'Bhojan Bank Seva Samiti' promotes donating 'roti' or bread to poor people instead of giving money. This organisation collects money, grains and other items through which poor people are provided with nutritious food. Locals of Kanpur have joined the cause to provide food to beggars. Organisation is taking up this social work on a weekly basis for now but they soon want to make it a daily service.

New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): A couple in Delhi on Tuesday alleged police inaction in a chain snatching case. The chain snatching incident happened on 20 September in Delhi's Connaught Place (CP). While speaking to ANI, The complainant, Amrita said, "It was horrifying night for me. We still not find any result in that case. Police is not taking any action in the matter." "The incident happened in CP. We gave us our gold chain still they chased us. No CCTV cameras were there no bike patrolling were there," said complainant's husband, Vinod Singh Bhandari told to ANI.

Bajrang Punia eyeing for Olympics after controversial semi-final defeat at World Championships

He said that Pakistan has always been treated as an illegal occupier of area near Kashmir. "India and Pakistan has nuclear deterrence and it is a threat to the world and UNGA is more concerned about that and Imran Khan's speech can't impress them," said Kashmiri. UKPNP Chairman added that there should be some democratic credentials to raise the any issue in UNGA and Pak doesn't have any democratic credentials.
