Crime against women, children in UP: 23 accused sentenced to life imprisonment in last 24 hrs

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh government has sentenced 23 accused to life imprisonment in the past 24 hours, in connection with cases of crime against women and children. The State Home Department of Uttar Pradesh stated the information in a press release on October 20. According to it, 28 criminals were thrown out of the district, and bails were cancelled in 49 cases. The action has come as a big boost to the newly launched `Mission Shakti' to prevent crime against women and girls across the state.

Police Commemoration Day: States CMs pay tribute to CRPF jawans

Lucknow (UP)/Mumbai/Vijayawada (AP), Oct 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to the police personnel on Police Commemoration Day in Lucknow. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also paid tribute to the CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the line of duty, at Police Headquarters in Mumbai's Naigaon. Meanwhile, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy attended an event organised on Police Commemoration Day 2020 on October 21 in Vijayawada. He paid tribute to slain soldiers who sacrificed their lives while discharging their duties. The day is observed every year to pay homage to 10 CRPF jawans who laid down their lives battling Chinese Army in Ladakh's Hot Spring area.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 21 (ANI): Culture Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Usha Thakur sparked controversy with her statement over madrasas. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Usha Thakur said, "All terrorists are raised in madrasas, they had turned Jammu and Kashmir into a terror factory. Tusker dies due to cardiac arrest at Shivamogga's Sakrebailu Elephant Camp

Shivamogga (Karnataka), Oct 21 (ANI): An elephant died at Shivamogga's Sakrebailu Elephant Camp due to cardiac arrest. Ekadanta, who was 35-year-old was brought in the camp two years back. Sakrebailu Elephant Camp is famous for taming tuskers located at the distance of 20 kms from city. Following the death, there are 23 elephants left in the camp.

This Hyderabad man has performed last rites of 13, 000 unclaimed bodies

Hyderabad (Telangana), Oct 21 (ANI): A man in Hyderabad runs a foundation for doing pioneering service by performing the last rites of unclaimed and unidentified bodies. K Rajeshwar Rao, the founder of Satya Harishchandra Foundation started photographing unknown bodies soon after they were sent to the morgue. Satya Harishchandra Foundation stands as a repository of information about unknown bodies and unknown patients. The foundation preserves the data of unclaimed bodies even after the cremation. Rao started a website to make the data easily available for anyone and everyone. The website is www.unknownbodies.org. So far, Rao has cremated 13, 000 unclaimed bodies.

Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurates 1st hydrogen blended CNG plant in Delhi
