Patna (Bihar), Oct 20 (ANI): Ahead of Bihar elections, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan on October 20 resolved that present Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) will never become CM again in Bihar. Chirag Paswan said, "LJP is contesting on more seats than JDU and we will certainly win more seats than them. Now I am free from all rituals (after Ram Vilas Paswan's death) so I'll be among people from tomorrow with the resolve that present Chief Minister never becomes CM again." Bihar elections will be held in three phases- Oct 28, Nov 3 and Nov 7 and the results will be declared on Nov 10.
New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on October 20 and urged the citizens to not show any carelessness against coronavirus. PM Modi said, "In this festive season, markets are bright again but we need to remember that the lockdown might have ended but COVID-19 still persists. With efforts of every Indian over last 7-8 months, India is in a stable situation we must not let it deteriorate." He further said, "This is not the right time to show carelessness. Recently, we saw many photos and videos where it is clearly seen that people are not careful anymore. This isn't right. If you step out without mask, you put your families at risk. We must remember - whether it is America or Europe, cases declined and then there was sudden spike".

They protested in Kerala's Kochi outside Govt Medical College on October 20. Youth Congress workers also carried placards while protesting in Kochi.
Birbhum (West Bengal), Oct 20 (ANI): 'No Entry' boards have been placed outside a puja pandal in Police Line area of Birbhum. This comes after Calcutta High Court's order. All Durga Puja pandals in West Bengal have been declared no-entry zones by Calcutta High Court. Only organizers can enter the pandals. Every year Durga Puja is celebrated with full fervour but this year, due to COVID-19 pandemic, there will be restrictions in celebrations.
Rohtas (Bihar), Oct 20 (ANI): Ahead of Bihar election, BJP has deployed its star campaigners in the state like RS Prasad, Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a public rally in Karakat, in which he said that 'Bharat tere tukde honge' slogan cannot be raised in JNU now, the only slogan being raised in the country is 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat'. "Pakistan supported terrorists cannot enter Kashmir and attack jawans... 'Bharat tere tukde honge' slogan cannot be raised in JNU now; the only slogan being raised in the country is 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat'," said Adityanath.
New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Union Health Ministry on October 20, informed that the country has largest COVID-19 recovered cases in the world. Secretary in Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Rajesh Bhushan said, "We have the largest number of COVID-19 recovered cases in the world and till today we have conducted 9.60 crore tests and we stand second in terms of number of tests conducted in any country. The cumulative positive rate of the country is 7.90%." He further said, "While many countries have reported a surge, India has recorded 310 cases per million in the last seven days, which is among the lowest globally."
New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): On October 20, Union Health Ministry informed that six states including Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal account for 64% of the country's total active COVID-19 cases. Secretary in Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Rajesh Bhushan said, "The six states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal - account for 64% of the country's total active cases and rest has 35.75% cases."
New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): While addressing the media on October 20, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal spoke about NEET 2020 results. Kejriwal said, "Around 569 students who were passed out from government schools of Delhi have qualified for NEET 2020. Out of total 569 students, 379 are girls (around 67%) and they have performed really well in the exams."

Kalpetta (Kerala), Oct 20 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on October 20 criticised Kamal Nath's "item" remark used for BJP leader Imarti Devi in a public rally and said that he don't appreciate the type of language which he used. "Kamal Nath ji is from my party but personally, I don't like the type of language that he used...I don't appreciate it, regardless of who he is. It is unfortunate," said Gandhi on the former Madhya Pradesh CM's "item" remark.

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Speaking to ANI, the Senior Director and HOD of chest and respiratory diseases in BLK Super Speciality Hospital, Dr Sandeep Nayar spoke on COVID-19 update and its impact in coming winter season. Dr Nayar said, "It is a tough time again because we have crossed 75 lakh cases of COVID-19 in India so far. We should do something more aggressively to control it because still it is a long way to go." "The way it is (coronavirus) being spreading among the community and even there are speculations that there is community spread in some areas so the estimation of government is right in that direction," he added. "The time can be very bad and it can be life threatening, so I hope that soon we will get the vaccine to get immunity. Vaccine should be free from all complications. COVID-19 virus might show its bad effect in a stronger way during winters," Dr Sandeep further stated.
Kaimur (Bihar), Oct 20 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public rally at Ramgarh in Kaimur district ahead of Bihar polls. In the rally he said, "NDA govt is working in Bihar's interest. Bihar is benefiting from govt formed under the leadership of PM Modi.
