Jakarta (Indonesia), Jan 05 (ANI): Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla in Jakarta and discussed strategic partnership on Friday. Swaraj arrived in Indonesia today, after having "a productive engagement" in Thailand. During her two-day visit, the External Affairs Minister will co-chair the 5th meeting of India-Indonesia Joint Commission with her Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi.
Muzaffarabad (PoK), Jan 05 (ANI): The Awami Action Forum staged a protest demonstration against the Kohala Hydropower project in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. They blocked the Muzaffarabad-Rawalpindi highway and raised slogans against the government. The protesters demanded that the project should not commence without taking the people into confidence. Constructed by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTGC), the 1100 MW project is slated to be completed in 2021. Construction of dams and hydropower projects in PoK has raised serious environmental concerns. A large number of indigenous people have also been displaced. People in PoK have been opposing these hydropower projects constructed by the Chinese companies as they are denied all rights, including electricity and jobs.

Bangkok (Thailand), Jan 4 (ANI): Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday arrived in Bangkok on the first leg of a three-nation tour that will also take place from January 4-8 in 2018 in Indonesia and Singapore. She will hold meeting with her Thailand counterpart Don Pramudwinai, who will also host dinner for EAM. She will further hold bi-lateral meetings to discuss various political, defence and economic ties in a bid to further strengthen ties with the ASEAN countries.

Financial consultancy firm, Brand Finance, is expiring an estimate 50 million to come from merchandise sales alone. As the wedding is expected to draw an international crowd, the bulk of the boom will come from tourism. New Delhi, Jan 03 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off aid to Palestinians for not willing to talk peace with Israel. Trump wrote on twitter "It's not only Pakistan that we pay billions of dollars to for nothing, but also many other countries, and others. As an example, we pay the Palestinians hundreds of millions of dollars a year and get no appreciation or respect. They don't even want to negotiate a long overdue peace treaty with Israel. We have taken Jerusalem, the toughest part of the negotiation, off the table, but Israel, for that, would have had to pay more. But with the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?". Trump had earlier also threatened to withdraw financial aid to countries that supported a U.N. resolution against his administration's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Meanwhile, the youths from Gilgit Baltistan carried out a demonstration in Karachi city demanding their constitutional rights.
Karachi (Pakistan), Jan 02 (ANI): An agitation was witnessed in Pakistan's Karachi when a number of residents took to the streets to protest against U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of cutting off aids to Pakistan very soon. During the protest organised by Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC), an umbrella coalition of more than 40 Pakistani Political and Religious parties, placards reading anti-Trump slogans were on display. Earlier, Donald Trump took to Twitter and wrote: "US has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies and deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!" Baloch and Sindhi political activists have welcomed Trump's stance.

Reacting to this statement, Abdul Nawaz Bugti, representative of Baloch Republican Party to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) said that the Baloch people see this statement of President Trump as a very positive development and hope it's not a pressure building measure against Pakistan. Naela Quadri Baloch, President of World Baloch Women's Forum, Canada said, "So far, Pakistan has used the U.S. funds to support terror factory along Afghanistan-Pakistan border that destabilises the whole region."
New Delhi, Jan 02 (ANI): The United States' first lady Melania Trump once again caught the attention of people as she got dressed in a gown which was reportedly worth USD 4,000 at the New Year's Eve party at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. The party which was hosted by President Donald Trump, saw Melania wearing stunning light pink dress, covered in sequins with a pretty floral design featuring red, blue and white bouquets. Melania, who was joined by her son Baron in the party, did not exactly receive the best reaction from Twitter users. Melania, who was seen wearing baby pink colour stilettos with a pointed toe at the party, became a target of trolls' for the dress as people on Twitter said that it was not her best look.
