Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 4 (ANI): As many as 11 people, including Nepali Congress youth leader Gagan Thapa were injured in an explosion targeting his election rally at Chapali area of capital Kathmandu. All the injured have been receiving treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital. Thapa who has sustained injuries in his shoulder is said to be in normal condition now, after receiving treatment. Two persons were critically injured in the blast. They have been identified as Shyam Krishna Shrestha and Ram Kaji Shrestha. Security remains tight across Nepal as the country gears up to vote on December 7 for the second and last phase of its historic parliamentary and provincial election.
Canada, Dec 4 (ANI): Balochistan activist Naela Quadri Baloch on Monday wrote to US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, demanding declaration of former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf as a global terrorist. Naela Baloch accused Pervez Musharraf of butchering people of Balochistan using arms bought by the United States of America. While speaking to ANI, Baloch activist urged that his assets should be seized and investigation should be done. His open support to Hafiz Saeed and terrorists outfits is a dangerous situation, she added.
Bali (Indonesia), Dec 04 (ANI): A supermoon has brightened Bali's skies, revealing its erupting volcano. Mount Agung has been spewing plumes of smoke from its crater since last week and although it seems to have calmed in the last few days, officials warn there's still a chance of an imminent eruption. Supermoons occur when the moon reaches its closest point to Earth and it just so happens that this was also the last full moon of the year.

South Korea, Dec 04 (ANI): A South Korean fishing boat capsized off the country's western coast on Sunday after it collided with a refueling vessel, killing eight people. The boat was carrying two sailors and 20 passengers when the collision occurred in waters near Incheon west of Seoul, according to the Coast Guard. Two people remain missing and a search and rescue operation involving five helicopters and 19 vessels is underway. The reason for the collision is yet to be confirmed.
Tel Aviv (Israel), Dec 04 (ANI): Around 20,000 Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv against government corruption and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is under criminal investigation over allegations of abuse of office. The demonstration was by far the largest of weekly anti-corruption protests sparked by corruption allegations against Netanyahu, who denies any wrongdoing. The four-term leader is suspected of involvement in two cases. The first involves receiving gifts from wealthy businessmen and the second involves negotiating a deal with a newspaper owner for better coverage in return for curbs on a rival daily. The protest was prompted by a draft law expected to be ratified by parliament next week, which would bar police from publishing its findings in two investigations of Netanyahu.
London (England), Dec 03 (ANI): Baloch Republican Party's UK chapter held a demonstration protest outside the Switzerland embassy in London on Saturday. The objective of the demonstration was to protest the absurd decision of the Switzerland authorities of turning down the political asylum application of Top Baloch leader and chief of BRP, Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti. Mansoor Baloch, the President of the party's UK Chapter, has said that Switzerland should review its decision, and it should not overlook its code of neutrality, human rights laws and the western traditions. Antarctica, Dec 03 (ANI): Ireland's Paul Robinson made a quick visit to Antarctica recently, at the request of the organisers of the Antarctic ice marathon race, to attempt a very different record. The elite athlete is no stranger to the mile distance (1.609km) having previously run a 3:51.1 in the 2014 Fifth Avenue Mile race in New York City, and now with his sights set on qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. On November 25 Robinson lined up for a straight one mile run, with the course distance checked repeatedly by organisers with global positioning instruments. A camera drone tracked him throughout his run with the organisers using an electronic timing system. Luckily the conditions were perfect for visibility with sun, blue skies and little wind. Braving temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius with slippery snow underfoot, Robinson ran the distance in a time of four minutes 17.9 seconds which organisers say must be the fastest mile ever run in Antarctica. Birgunj (Nepal), Dec 2 (ANI): Muslims celebrated Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad with great joy and enthusiasm in Birgunj city of Parsa district on Saturday. The day is celebrated in the third Islamic month called Rabee-ul-aawal according to the lunar calendar. People organize a huge rally for Malid, as it is celebrated in a carnival manner. The prophet is believed to have been born on the 12th day of the month, and Muslims celebrate milad to commemorate this day. He used the word to refer to refugees who have fled from violence in Myanmar. He did not use the word on the first leg of his trip, in Myanmar. Residents of a city in southern Poland bought an iconic communist era "toddler" car after he shared a photograph of himself with the automobile on social media last year. It all started with a picture of Tom Hanks with a smile on his face leaning on the tiny Fiat 126p car, known as the "toddler" in Poland. Monika Jaskolska, a resident of the city of Bielsko Biala, where the car was produced from the 1970s, decided to organise fundraising to send Hanks one of the cars. Polish racing driver Rafal Sonik then offered to renovate the car for Hanks. Fiat 126p cars are rarely seen on Polish roads nowadays. Despite its name, some people say it is possible to fit up to 14 people inside the vehicle.
New Delhi, Dec 02 (ANI): NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik has captured beautiful images of lightning strikes illuminating the skies above China, Korea and Japan. A timelapse video uploaded by Bresnik shows a "spectacle of lightning strikes" as viewed from the International Space Station (ISS), according to a description given with the video. The images also feature city lights and fishing boats visible around the Sea of Japan, the Expedition 53 commander said.

France, Dec 02 (ANI): French President Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte Macron will officially name a panda cub at a zoo in southern France. The naming ceremony of this tiny panda cub will serve as an unlikely setting for international diplomacy. France's First Lady Brigitte Macron, who is also the godmother to the new panda, will be joined by Chinese officials to choose a new name. The 4-month-old cub, until now referred to as "Mini Yuan Zi" after his father was the first to be born in France after his parents arrived in 2012. Their arrival was hailed as a sign of warming diplomatic ties between Paris and Beijing. The official naming ceremony for the panda cub will take place on December 4.

Earlier, EAM Sushma Swaraj represented India at two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit and said that India condemns all forms of terrorism and everyone must reaffirm that terrorism cannot or should not be associated with any religion, civilization or ethnic group. Sochi (Russia), Dec 01 (ANI):Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj represented India at two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, which is being held in Russia's Sochi. Speaking at the summit, Swaraj said India condemns all forms of terrorism and everyone must reaffirm that terrorism cannot or should not be associated with any religion, civilization or ethnic group. It is a crime against humanity, she added. On behalf of India, she said the country urges cooperation from all other countries to enhance co-operation by intelligence sharing, law and order, mutual extradition agreements to counter terrorism. Swaraj is expected to meet several SCO leaders in Russia on the sidelines of the summit.
New Delhi, Dec 01 (ANI): While the controversy surrounding American film producer Harvey Weinstein had not yet faded away, another sexual misconduct scandal unfolded recently, this time its king of hip-hop Russell Simmons, who is stepping down his throne. Simmons is the latest popular name to be accused of sexual misconduct by screenwriter Jenny Lumet, who accused Simmons of forcing himself on her in his New York apartment in 1991. Simmons said he will step down from all of his fashion and production business and also apologised for his behavior in a statement. "While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely and humbly apologize," part of the statement read.
