Bagh / Kotli (PoK), Oct 22 (ANI): Anti-Pakistan protests were held today across Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan to mark "Black Day". It was on this day, October 22 in 1947 that the Pakistan Army disguised as tribal raiders and invaded the undivided State of Jammu and Kashmir. Protests were held in Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Gilgit and Hajirah and other places. People came out on the streets to register their protest on the 70th anniversary of the day when the Pakistan Army, disguised as tribals, attacked parts of the then undivided state of Jammu and Kashmir and occupied a third of the State. A massive rally and public meeting was held in Bagh city as the protesters raised anti-Pakistan slogans and demand freedom by Islamabad's illegal occupation. Dhaka (Bangladesh), Oct 22 (ANI): Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj arrived in Dhaka and was greeted by Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Sunday. After arriving in Dhaka,the External Affairs Minister attended Joint Consultative Committee Meeting along with Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith. Muzaffarabad (PoK), Oct 22 (ANI): Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) Activist Tauqeer Geelani, while addressing a gathering in Muzaffarabad, stated that the Pakistan Army trains terrorists, provides safe havens and sanctuaries to them. Geelani said that the Pakistani Army has introduced their trained terrorists as jihadists in various places like Afghanistan, Khalistan and Kashmir.
Kabul (Afghanistan), Oct 22 (ANI): At least 72 people were killed after suicide bombers attacked two mosques in Afghanistan. A bomber walked into a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in Kabul and detonated an explosive, said one of the worshippers. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the terrorist outfit did not provide any evidence for the claim. In recent months, Shi'ite Muslims have suffered a series of attacks in Afghanistan and many of them have been claimed by the Sunni Muslim militants of IS.
U.S.A., Oct 22 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump took to his twitter handle on Saturday morning to announce that he will release the final batch of classified government documents surrounding the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Trump tweeted: "Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened." According to the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, the deadline for the federal government to release the files is October 26, 2017. Under this act, the government will release thousands of never-before-seen documents related to JFK's assassination with one person possessing the power to block them-the president- who can cite national security concerns and prevent their release. Full release of these documents would mark a significant step for researchers, who have waited decades to unravel the mystery.
Bharatpur (Nepal), Oct 21 (ANI): This year's 'Bhaitika' , the final day of Yama Panchak became special for Meena Pokharel and Saraswati Pokherel as their brother Kapil Pokharel retuned back to Nepal after a couple of year. Bhaitika which falls on the second lunar day of Shukla Paksha (Bright fortnight) in the month of Kartik in Bikram Sambat, an official calendar of Nepal is believed to strengthen the bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters put "Tika on her brother's forehead, to ensure his long life and prosperity. The Tika consists of seven colors and called as 'Saptarangi Tika' in Nepali. Along with the Tika, sisters also offer garlands of Marigold flower. Moreover, the plastic readymade garlands are also used. Sweets and other special dishes are also prepared for the feast. Nepal was gripped in the religious fervor of the auspicious festival of Bhaitika.
New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): As many as 3, 40,000 Rohingya Muslim children are living in squalid camps without enough food and water. United Nations International Children's Fund revealed the figures on October 20, in a report on refugees from Myanmar who have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh. UNICEF also informed that many of the children are traumatised by brutal acts by Myanmar soldiers. Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya people have been forced to leave their villages, after the army launched a crackdown on the Muslim minority. UNICEF's report claims that over 12000 children are arriving in Bangladesh every week and are forced to settle in dirty shelters that pose a high risk of water born diseases.
New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): At least nine people have been killed after a vampire scare triggered mob violence in Malawi. Relative of one of the victims informed her grand-daughter was with her son who was carrying a bag on his back. It had numerous pockets and among the items he was carrying was an inflatable mattress. When the angry villagers saw that and the special drinking bottle he was holding they thought he was a blood sucker, a vampire and they started beating him and killed them both. The attacks spread to Malawi's second biggest city Blantyre on October 18. While one person was torched, another was stoned to death The residents are now living in fear of the violence. Police on Friday informed that as many as 140 suspected members of vigilante mobs have been arrested. Authorities also blame a criminal gang seeking to terrorise residents.
Brussels (Belgium), Oct 21 (ANI): Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he will announce measures to impose direct rule on Catalonia over its bid to separate. Speaking at the EU summit in Brussels, Rajoy added the measures, that he will announce on Oct 21, would have backing from the main opposition Socialist party, and centrist group Ciudadanos. The prime minister has called an emergency cabinet meeting today to make way for Madrid establishing central control in the region.

China, Oct 19 (ANI): As expected, China's rocketing growth rate has slowed down a bit, at least for this quarter. Beijing reporting a 6.8 percent rise for Q3 on Thursday. That's in line with government targets, but down a fraction from the previous three months, due to moves to cool the property market and cut debt risks. The reading comes in the midst of China's key Communist Party congress, where President Xi Jinping revealed big plans for the country's economic future, promising to deepen financial reforms and further open its markets to foreign investors. Beijing has a slightly more modest growth target of around 6.5 percent for 2017, which could offer more room for reforms, after growth hit its weakest pace in over 2 decades last year. Analysts expect a gradual GDP slowdown for China. But for now, overall activity is still going strong, as better-than-expected growth in trade and bank lending help prop up the world's second largest economy.

Yangon (Myanmar), Oct 19 (ANI): A huge fire broke out at a Kandawgyi Palace, a lakeside hotel in Yangon before dawn on Thursday, gutting the entire building and leaving two people injured. One of the injured was a Chinese woman and the other was a fireman. Both are being treated at a hospital. Guests at the hotel were evacuated from the building and the fire was put under control at daybreak. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
