Czech Republic, Sep 29 (ANI): A Czech brewery is getting high tech help from some little creatures. The Protivin brewery in Czech Republic has enlisted crayfish to monitor the purity of the spring water it uses to make beer. Placed in tanks that are pumped with the sourced water, the crayfish can react to low levels of pollution. They are fitted with infrared sensors that monitor their heartbeats and track their cardiac activity, while cameras monitor their movements.
Jalalabad (Afghanistan), Sep 29 (ANI): Dozens of Afghans staged a protest against Pakistan in Jalalabad in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.The Protestors, mostly Pashtuns, participated in the protest which started from Pashtunistan Chowk and concluded outside the Pakistan consulate in Jalalabad. Organised by Loy Afghanistan and National Afghan Movement, the protest held against the Pakistan government for giving shelter to terrorists and committing atrocities against Afghans in the border areas.
Singapore, Sep 29 (ANI): Singapore zoo announced a new member to the family with the birth of a male baby rhino on Thursday. The calf was the first male white rhino born into the zoo in five years. The young calf was able to stand up and take his first wobbly steps within an hour of the birth. The calf, yet to be named, spends his time bonding with his mum and enjoys being scratched with an extended brush.

San Juan (Puerto Rico), Sep 28 (ANI): Aerial drone video taken in San Juan on Wednesday showed widespread destruction, a week after Hurricane Maria made landfall on the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico. Maria, the most powerful hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in nearly 90 years, swept across the island with roof-ripping winds last week. Hurricane Maria knocked out the territory's entire power grid, unleashed severe flooding and caused widespread heavy damage to homes and infrastructure. The storm claimed more than 30 lives across the Caribbean, including at least 16 in Puerto Rico. Governor Ricardo Rossello called the devastation an unprecedented natural disaster.
New York (U.S.A), Sep 27 (ANI): Replying to a reporter's suggestion of taking action against use of fake photographs like by Pakistan envoy Maleeha Lodhi, United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) President Miroslav Lajcak said he will think about it. The reporter had asked if he would like to set some factual baseline in terms of the use of photograph depicting something that they didn't say it was. On September 24, Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi had showed pictures of Palestinian victims and tried to pass them off as 'evidence' of atrocities on Kashmiris. She bashed the picture in her right to reply to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's speech at the UN. The picture used by Lodhi was reported by a number of media outlets as that of Rawia Abu Joma'a, a 17-year-old girl, who was injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza city in 2014.
Saudi Arabia, Sep 27 (ANI): Saudi women are finally allowed to drive, a message coming via state media that said Saudi King Salman issued the decree reversing the longstanding policy. The ban on women driving has been seen as a symbol of oppression of women in the conservative Islamic kingdom. Mexico, Sep 27 (ANI): Rescuers in Mexico will end their search for survivors tomorrow, more than a week after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake devastated the capital. Anger arose over lack of information among the relatives of an estimated 40 people, who are still expected to be buried under the rubble. The rescue teams have pulled 69 survivors from quake-damaged properties, but an estimated 40 people still remain missing. The dreadful quake killed at least 331 people, including some at this collapsed textile factory that has become a makeshift memorial. New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): World's former heaviest woman Eman Abdul Atti passed away on Monday due to comorbid conditions, including heart disease and kidney dysfunction. Eman was transferred to Burjeel Hospital from India in May to continue rehabilitation from bariatric surgery that saw her lose more than 300kg. She weighed 504kg when she arrived in Mumbai on February 11. She had been under the supervision of over 20 doctors from different specialties in the hospital who were managing her medical condition from the time she arrived in the UAE.
