Jerusalem (Israel), July 05 (ANI): Professor Efraim Inbar of Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies on Wednesday emphasised on Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit, saying his visit to Israel is very significant. Professor Efraim said that India is a rising power and both the countries have a common problem of radical Islam. He added that they respect the 'Make in India' policy of PM Modi. PM Modi further said that the Indian Diaspora feels that the country Isreal means 'Israel is a real friend of India'. Vote counting of 2nd phase of local polls goes on at snail's pace in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal) July 3 (ANI): Vote counting for the second phase of Nepal local election is becoming a victim of the "Stop and Go" style because many of logistic and technical problems. The Election Commission has not been able to start the vote counting in six local levels because of various problems. According to the information received by Joint Election Operation Center, counting of votes are underway in 91 local levels. The Election Commission has informed that the results of 242 local levels out of 334 had been declared by on Monday afternoon. The opposition CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist) has won over 44 local levels. The Nepali Congress, on other hand, have managed to win 29 local levels.

Bhutanese people say China's border action could lead to war

Thimpu (Bhutan), July 02 (ANI): As the tension between China and Bhutan is on the rise, the Chinese Army has started constructing a motorable road from Dokola in the Doklam area towards the Bhutan Army camp at Zompelri. Expressing their views on the matter, Chundu singye, a local of Thimpu said that China's activity at border lines is very risky and they are encouraging a war. While, Tsheltrim Dorji, a Bhutanese student believes that China, India, Bhutan should come together and take out a solution. 'Don't send terrorists here, will throw them out': JKNAP leader to Pakistan PM

Hajira (PoK), July 02 (ANI): Jammu Kashmir Awami National Party (JKNAP) leader Liaqat Hayat Khan on Sunday attacked Pakistan Army and its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying they will now throw out terrorists sent by Islamabad to the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Khan warned the military leadership of Pakistan to stop sending militants to their soil as people of all religions co-exists in this land of peace. JKNAP leader Khan shared critical situation of the region and added that Pakistani army threatens their people to give shelter to the militants. Residents of Hajira in PoK are demanding freedom from Pakistan and have accused the civilian leadership of nurturing terrorism in their territory by giving safe havens to them.

Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin 'denounces' U.S. global terrorist designation

Islamabad (Pakistan), July 02 (ANI): Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin on Saturday denounced his designation as a global terrorist by the United States and said that he will continue his armed fight for Kashmir. The Hizbul chief condemned the decision taken by the U.S. President Donald Trump and called it 'idiotic', saying it was a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to the country. Earlier, number of activists belonged to Jamaat-ud-Dawah and supporters of Hizbul Mujahideen chief protested against the U.S decision by burning American and Indian flags. Shia Muslims protest against Parachinar blasts which claimed over 70 lives

Gilgit, July 02 (ANI): Several members of the Shia Muslim community on Friday, gathered on the streets of Gilgit to protest against the recent twin blasts that took place in Parachinar.The livid protestors stated that members of their community are being targeted upon in the region which has a Shia majority. Over 70 people lost their lives when two blasts wrecked havoc in Parachinar area of Kurram Agency on June 23. The first blast took place at Turi Market while the second explosion occurred when rescuers and bystanders rushed to help the survivors of the first blast. Kurram is the only Shia Muslim region in a predominantly Sunni country. Earlier, a blast outside an imambargah located in a busy Parachinar market claimed lives of 24 people and left 90 others injured in March this year. In yet similar incident, four civilians were killed by Frontier Corps personnel in Parachinar itself. Second phase of Nepal elections sees huge turnout despite showers

Kathmandu (Nepal) June 28 (ANI): Voters gathered in large numbers in the restive south of Nepal for the second phase of local polls in three provinces of the country. The Election commission recorded a turnout of 33 percent in only the first four hours polling Over 6.4 million eligible voters in province no. 1, 5 and 7 are casting their votes to choose the candidate of their choice. Up to 8,364 polling stations have been set up in the three provinces which are set to vote today. The Ministry of Home Affairs have deployed 1,60,000 security personnel to ensure security. Nepal on May 14 held the first phase of local polls. The third phase of the polls will be held on September 18 in Province no. 2, the Terai Region which is the home of the agitating Madheshi Parties. The Madhesh Leaders have been demanding an amendment of the constitution to ensure their participation in the elections.
