State-owned infrastructure financing institution Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) expects its loan book to cross the Rs 2 lakh crore mark during the ongoing financial year on firm demand. To fund asset expansion, the company plans to borrow Rs 75,000 crore from both domestic and overseas markets during the current fiscal. Of this, the company has already raised Rs 20,000 crore in the first quarter and the remaining Rs 55,000 crore would be mobilised in the three quarters of FY27, HUDCO Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sanjay Kulshrestha told PTI. As far as domestic market fund raising is concerned, the company plans to raise up to Rs 1,000 crore through Capital Gain Bonds in addition to non-convertible debentures and other means. The government authorised the company to issue 54 EC Capital Gain Bonds last year and it mobilised about Rs 120 crore during FY26. Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (Hudco) on Monday reported a 35 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 851 crore in the first quarter ended June 2026. The state-owned company had earned a net profit of Rs 630 crore in the year-ago period. The company's total income rose to Rs 3,737 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal year from Rs 2,945 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year, Hudco said in a regulatory filing. Hudco is a premier techno-financing public sector enterprise in the field of housing and infrastructure development. The company earned an interest income of Rs 3,710 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 2,925 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous financial year. During the reporting quarter, the expenses also rose to Rs 2,561 crore against Rs 1,976 crore in the same period a year ago. State-owned NBCC Ltd has entered into an MoU with HUDCO to redevelop August Kranti Bhawan in the national capital. In a regulatory filing on Monday, NBCC said it has entered into two different Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO). The first MoU relates to the redevelopment of August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi. HUDCO and NBCC have agreed to collaborate and jointly work towards the redevelopment of leasehold plot admeasuring 18830 square metre. NBCC would do techno-economic feasibility study, construction and project management and monetization of built-up space. Under the second MoU, HUDCO will provide funds for the ongoing and upcoming projects of NBCC's self-sustainable model. NBCC is into project management consultancy and real estate business.
State-owned infra financing institution Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (Hudco) is in talks with multilateral development banks, including ADB, and institutions to mobilise USD 1 billion to fund infra projects in the country, its Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kulshreshta said. "We are in advanced discussion with KfW (Germany's state-owned development bank) to raise USD 200 million," he told PTI. Besides, the company is in talks with multilateral development banks like the Asian Development Bank for a loan of USD 500 million and USD 200-300 million from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in the current financial year, he said. "We are hoping to finalise these fundraises of about USD 1 billion during the current financial year for on-lending to infrastructure projects," he added.
