Altair expands Bangalore operations

Altair Engineering, specialising in engineering software and grid computing technology, on Thursday announced the opening of 45,000 square foot facility in Bangalore.
 
The facility is expected to create an additional 250 high-end engineering positions, almost doubling its strength from the present 300, providing Altair with the much-needed space for future expansion.
 
It will be home to Altair India's executive management comprising Altair's three lines of business "" product design consulting, advanced engineering software and grid computing technologies.
 
"We needed a facility in the IT hub of Bangalore that would support our domestic growth as well as explore additional opportunities in the emerging markets for our global product engineering consulting and established software development organisation," said James R Scapa, president and CEO, Altair Engineering.
 
Altair Engineering also focuses on product design consulting, advanced engineering software and high performance computing technologies.
