Arvind net falls 35% to Rs 23 cr

| Arvind Mills reported 35 per cent dip in its net profits for the third quarter ended December 2005 at Rs 23.4 crore from Rs 36 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. |
| The denim major's net sales also dipped by 5.5 per cent at Rs 390 crore from Rs 413 crore over the last corresponding. Total income stood at Rs 392 crore, a 5.3 per cent decrease from Rs 414 crore. Earnings per share decreased to Rs 1.07 from Rs 1.79. |
| The company's denim volumes are down by 7 per cent, and the realisations are down by 6 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The denim volumes are also down by 13 per cent q-o-q and the realisations are down by 2 per cent. |
| Denim volumes in the current quarter was 22.85 million meters at an average realisation of Rs 97 compared with 24.49 million meters at an average realisation of Rs 103 during the last corresponding quarter. |
| Shirting volumes in the quarter was 6.47 million meters at an average realisation of Rs 125 over 5.67 million meters at Rs132 last year. |
