Ashley Design renamed Defiance Technologies

Ashley Design and Engineering Services, a division of heavy vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland today said it has been renamed "Defiance Technologies".
Ashok Leyland acquired the Detroit-based Defiance Testing and Engineering in 2007 and with the new entity, the company hopes to give a thrust in the complete spectrum of design and testing, Hinduja Automotive Executive Vice Chairman Dr V Sumantran told reporters here.
"Customers in India stand to gain from the testing capabilities of Defiance Testing and Engineering with the concern and we have also planned to set up a unit for Testing facility in Tamil Nadu", he said.
He said they were holding talks for the purchase of land in North Chennai or South Chennai for the testing facility and may finalise it soon.
"Defiance Technologies will provide the Testing services for their clients", Defiance Testing and Engineering Vice President and General Manager Peter G Dodd said.

"The Computer Aided Engineering will be done in Indian facility while the physical testing in Detroit", he said.
The combined Defiance operations now have 300 professionals having skills in product design, validation product and process engineering for automotive and other industrial products and systems, Defiance Technologies COO P Parthasarathy said.
He said they were also planning to recruit more candidates for the new concern.
Defiance Technologies offers virtual engineering services right from basic design to high-end predictive analysis for automotive and aerospace customers.
