Essar Power has appointed B H Ravindra as Managing Director, Essar Power Jharkhand Limited, Tori. Essar Power Jharkhand Ltd. (EPJL) is setting up a 1,800 MW pit headed coal fired independent power plant at Tori in Latehar district of Jharkhand state, said a company statement.
Ravindra, with over 24 years of experience in power & infra sector, rejoins Essar Power from the GVK Group, where he was a Director & Head – Business Development. He has previously been associated with Essar Power, GMR Group Ltd, ICRA Advisory Services, and Tata Consulting Engineers.
Earlier, he had worked as the Executive Director & CEO, Krishnapatnam Power Corp., heading project evaluation, investment decision, development for 5,500MW thermal and hydel power projects developed by Navayuga Group.
Essar Power, a subsidiary of LSE-listed Essar Energy, has seven operational power plants in India and one operational power plant in Algoma, Canada, with a total installed generation capacity of 3,910 MW. This capacity is increasing to 6,700 MW.
