Baker Tilly inducts Singhi & Co as sole Indian member

Baker Tilly International, the eighth largest accounting and business advisory network of independent firms in the world, has inducted Kolkata-based Singhi & Co as its sole Indian member.
With presence in over 100 countries through 147 independent companies with more than 26,000 employees, it provides services related to audit and assurance, tax and other specialty advisory areas.
“We do not own any equity in Singhi, but will guide them in getting many services, marketing tools, sharing of clients and even with technology,” said Geoff Barnes, chief executive officer of Baker Tilly International.
“Being our member will help the company in terms of quality and customer service. We spend majority of our revenue on quality assurance initiatives,” he added.
The network’s revenue during the last financial year was above $3 billion and it has posted an annual 300 per cent increase in revenue over the past six years.

Baker Tilly International’s members provide services to more than 2,000 listed companies across the world, while its Indian partner has 45 listed clients in its kitty.
To be a part of the group, members have to pay an annual fee based on their revenue.
“Inclusion of a foreign partner is going to uplift our services, as they can act as a regulator for us. It is going to aid our international clients, because we will be able to avail our services in all these countries,” said Pradeep Singhi, senior partner of Singhi & Co.
Regarding the investment opportunities in the country, Barnes said, “India will turn out to be a better place for investors compared to China, as it has a better legal and banking system.”
