Becton Unveils Pre-Filled Shot

Becton Dickinson India Pvt Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the $4 billion US-based Fortune 500 firm, today launched Uniject, a pre-filled single-use injection device targeted for use in mass immunisation programmes.
Developed by Program for Appropriate Technology in Health, Seattle, US, and exclusively licensed to Becton Dickinson worldwide for production, distribution and marketing, Uniject is already in use in most of the developed world and is now being manufactured at the Rs 120 crore factory of Becton Dickinson India in Haryana.
Ram Sharma, managing director, said at the launch that the concept aims at making immunisation easier, minimises the risk of transmission of diseases, ensures economical transport and storage and environment-friendly disposal.
