The Bombay High Court today granted injunction relief to Bajaj Auto, India's third largest two-wheeler maker, against statements made by IB Commercial, the winning bidder of the decommisioned INS Vikrant.

The scrap dealer is thus restrained from making or circulating injurious or defamatory accusations against the Pune-based bike maker that recently launched the V15 motorcycle, which uses the metal used in the Vikrant in its fuel tank.

IB Commercial is also restrained from revealing the details of the scrap purchased by Bajaj, from interfering in Bajaj's marketing campaign and to give wrongful threats or issuing any letter or material containing the statements that Bajaj has committed breach of the copyright or any right.

In a release Bajaj stated that IB Commercial spread false news and misleading information by circulating private communication and business sensitive information and false statements about Bajaj Auto.

"These falsehoods included claims regarding Bajaj Auto infringing IB Commercial's rights in the goodwill relating to scrap and with regard to the video footage used in Bajaj Auto's promotional campaign.
