BS Reporter Chennai/ Bangalore
Despite the stories of a possible recession in the US and slowdown in the West, the campus salaries rose 9.4 per cent in FY'08 over FY'07 compared to 7.6 per cent increase in FY'07 from FY'06.

This was according to the findings of CareerNet Campus Compensation and Student Perception Survey 2008. It was based on detailed primary research on the recruitment drive conducted by firms, both IT products and services firms in the last six months across campuses in India.

CareerNet is a recruitment consulting firm working in the IT, ITeS, banking, financial services and KPO domain.

Headquartered in Bangalore, it employs over 250 HR professionals across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Pune.

On the survey CareerNet Consulting CEO Rishi Das said, "The CareerNet survey provides campus salary and recruitment process trends across various domains and sectors. The student perception survey presents the perspectives from students' and campuses' end."

Of the 2,200-odd students surveyed, 56 per cent felt job satisfaction and recognition are the most influential factors to stay beyond one year in an organisation and for 45 per cent "" 'Integrity and Hard Work' is the single most important trait for success as compared to 40 per cent for whom, 'Smart Work and Networking' is the success mantra.
